Annual Scarecrow Competition & Display
Peddler's Village, Lahaska
September 10th through October 28th
An annual tradition of Bucks County, the Scarecrows at Peddler's Village are not to be missed. Bigger than life scarecrow creations are displayed outdoors and compete for over $5,000 in cash prizes. Be sure to vote for your favorites while you are there! Along with simply seeing the displays, there is the 2012 Scarecrow Festival on September 15th & 16th from 10:00am – 6:00pm. Enjoy some live entertainment and pumpkin pie eating contests both days. There also will be a scarecrow-making workshop for the whole family to enjoy! For this activity, there is a $25 fee per scarecrow and reservations are recommended.

Jonathan Maberry Book Release Party & Zombie Contest

9th Annual Garden of Reflection 5k Run/Walk

The Garden of Reflection 9-11 Memorial was created to remember and honor all 2,973 killed on September 11, 2001—incuding the 18 from Bucks County. It is situated in Memorial Park amid the natural beauty of historic Bucks County farmland in Lower Makefield Township. It is the Official Pennsylvania Memorial to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The 5k Run/Walk, now in it’s 9th year, raises money for the ongoing maintenance of the memorial. Thanks to our generous sponsors and participants, this race has raised over $100,000 toward this effort.

The Nockamixon Community Day Association is dedicated to serving our community by providing a valuable service. We have been able to accomplish more, and have a larger impact upon our community. A morning service has just been added to the schedule for Tuesday, September 11. The “Honor and Remembrance Ceremony” will take place at 8:30 am at the Garden of Reflection. will be held on September 11th at 8:30 a.m. at the Lower Makefield Garden of Reflection. The Ceremony commemorates the 11th Anniversary of the tragic events. Please Join us as we honor and remember the victims of September 11th, 2001.

Upper Black Eddy Decorated Canoe Parade and Picnic

Decorate a canoe for the 19th annual Upper Black Eddy Canoe Parade & Community Picnic. No fees or pre-registration. All are welcome. Put in at Trail’s End at 2:PM SHARP. Potluck picnic at Berm Lane at the conclusion of the parade. Prizes will be awarded for the best canoe designs!

Make & Take Craft Activity: Day of the Dead
Mercer Museum, Doylestown

Day of the Dead—or Día de los Muertos—is observed on November 1 and 2 by many Hispanic cultures as their version of the Halloween holiday. It is a time to celebrate the lives of friends and family members. Revelers build altars in honor of the dead, and adorn them with colorful paper flowers, grinning skeletons and candles. Come and join in this celebration! Craft a model sugar skull and receive your Día de los Muertos temporary tattoo. Included with museum admission.

The Count's Halloween Spooktacular

5th Annual Fall Festival & Open House

The Historical Society of Hilltown Township 5th Annual Fall Festival & Open House. Tour the circa 1840′s Hartzel-Strassburger Homestead and visit the summer kitchen. Enjoy local artisan exhibits on two floors in the Homestead and under the tents. Throughout the day, watch live demonstrations of skills from a bygone era, such as wool spinning, hand engraving, blacksmithing and rug hooking. Visit an 1820′s Dry & Fancy Goods Store and Tobacconist tent. Antiques and collectibles will be on display and for sale. A large book sale will be held in the Society’s library. Baked goods for sale. Silent auction. Refreshments available. Held rain or shine. Free admission.

Yardley Harvest Day (a Happening List Winner)

On September 22nd, from 10 AM until 5 PM, fine artists and one-of-a-kind crafters will set up along West Afton Avenue down Main Street, along Penn Valley Drive and in Buttonwood Park. While strolling along West Afton Avenue, visitors will be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Afton and historic Yardley Borough. So, start off the fall season by spending the day strolling down picturesque West Afton Avenue into charming Buttonwood Park, and enjoying all the beautiful artwork and handmade pieces offered by over 100 exhibitors.

New Hope Arts and Crafts Festival
New Hope – Solebury High School, New Hope

Over 200 fine Artists and Craftsmen will exhibit using media such as oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, works in wood, wearable art, glass art, photography, and more. New Hope’s 19th Annual Outdoor Arts and Crafts Festival is organized by the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. It is rain or shine with free admission. Festival food, music, and a free shuttle from Downtown will also be available.

Peace Fair

A fair for the whole family—toddlers to grandparents! Local artists, crafts, live music, food, poetry, kids’ games, and Bucks County non-profits whose focus is peace, community service and the environment. Families can browse craft and book sale booths, participate in cooperative games, or listen to entertainers like Ecoman (kids’ songs), folk/pop singer Toby Mochel, and Fred’s Mobile Homes (Bluegrass band). Bucks County Poet Laureate Corie Feiner. Dance Elite of Horsham. Show off your unusual/adorable pets in the Peaceable Kingdom Pet Roundup. Tour the Buckingham Quaker Meetinghouse, a National Landmark. Featured speaker: Peace Educator George Lakey. Free to the public.

Fall Craft Fair

A combination of indoor and outdoor vendors. Each Artisan/Crafter shows his/her own work and in a few instances, the work of a close associate. A mix of music from Country Western to Jazz will be playing in the background. In addition to a fun day for all, you can munch on breakfast sandwiches and/or an available light lunch fare. Froehlich’s Farm Fall Festival
September 29th thru every weekend until October 28th
Celebrating their 70th year in 2012, Froehlich’s Farm is a fourth generation family owned and operated business. This fall marks the second annual Froehlich’s Farm Fall Festival, and bigger and better it will be! Beginning September 29th thru every weekend until October 28th, there will be lots of festive fall fun to be had on the farm. With an expanded pumpkin patch, the perfect pumpkin is sure to be found and the bigger than ever corn maze will make getting lost quite easy! Enjoy a scenic hayride around the 100-acre Froehlich Farm to view the beautiful, preserved Bucks County farmland and don’t miss the creative Halloween scenes found along the way.

BCFA’s Farm Tours: Castle Valley Mill

The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance is again hosting a series of farm evenings that introduces consumers to the local producers that put the freshest foods onto our tables via direct sales, CSAs, farmers’ markets, farm stands and other venues. The evening’s pot luck meal will run from 6:00 to 7:00pm, with the tour to follow. Visitors are expected to bring a dish or beverages to share with others and their family’s own eating equipment and seating, and they are expected to carry out their own trash. Although the farm tours are free, donations to BCFA’s programs are encouraged. This educational and entertaining event is appropriate for school-aged children who are under an adult’s careful supervision.

Celebrate Halloween at the Pearl S. Bucks House

Sleepy Hollow Hayride & House in the Hollow
Ride with your friends on a real hay wagon for a 1 1/4 mile journey through the haunted woods and fields of our 230 acre farm. The Haunted House in the Hallow is a 17 room attraction with a vast cemetery that could scare even the bravest of people. With its secret passages, cobweb choked halls, and see through apparitions, it is a true ghost story come to life.

Follow a lantern-led “walk” along picturesque streets where you'll learn about the doings of such places as the towpath itself; or see the phantom Hitchhiker who may pass you in the moonlight; or see the historic inn where Aaron Burr appears from time to time and stares with sightless eyes… plus new exciting stories have been added to the Tour. $10 per person

Halloween in Lambertville
The homes just over the bridge in Lambertville, NJ go all out for Halloween! Take a drive through town to get in the Halloween spirit or check out the photo album below. Also, be on the look out for the annual Halloween parade, which locals are looking forward to more than ever after last year's events were cancelled last year due to Hurricane Irene.

Halloween Costume Contest

Come dressed in a Halloween costume to compete in the annual costume contest at Sesame Place!  Registration will begin at 10 a.m. in front of Monster Rock Theater and there will be competitions for boys, girls, and families.  All of the contests will take place at Monster Rock Theater and winners will be posted at the Welcome Center. All winners will be invited to be special guests in the Neighborhood Street Party Halloween parade.
