Are you planning to tie the knot in 2017? Then you don't want to miss this! With the new year right around the corner, we'll give you a sneak peek into the future at some of our favorite up-and-coming wedding themes. Take a look at them below now to plan ahead for lasting memories.

Five Themes You'll Look forward to in 2017

Ecological mindfulness combines with history and cultural heritage in our wedding themes of the future. Touches of whimsical and fantasy elements will embellish these themes as well, so don't be afraid to get creative and use your imagination!

Theme #1: Old is New Again

This theme takes the tradition of ‘something old, something new' to a whole new level. Take your wedding back in time to a bygone era with ice carvings, seafood bars, and champagne towers. You can even try an old-time photo shoot! The Roaring 20s has become especially popular with Great Gatsby-style influences. Or if the era of flappers and jazz isn't your thing, a 1950s atmosphere might be a better fit.

Theme #2: East Meets West and Beyond

As multicultural marriages have become more common, cultural fusions of wedding traditions are taking place. Some of the best ways to incorporate this is through the menu. Crawfish as appetizers and BBQ for dinner? Or Chinese pot stickers followed by lasagna? Why not! And global cuisines aren't the only inspiration – sentimental dishes can also add significance. From honoring your parents with a dish they used to make for you to the meal you had together on your first date, you'll be sure to find something memorable for the big day.

Theme #3: Go Local!

While global foods are on the rise, local fare is as well. In fact, you can find world-class cuisine for your wedding right here in Pennsylvania! Bring the flavor of down-home comfort to your celebration with local delicacies like shoofly pie, tiramisu, whoopie pies, and homemade Amish ice cream. And, you'll be supporting local businesses when you locally source the food in your catering.

Theme #4: Who Said Being Green Isn't Easy?

Greenery continues to be a popular trend that brings weddings a little closer to nature. Simple and affordable decoration, this eco-friendly theme can be easily incorporated into other themes with an added touch of elegance. And it smells wonderful, too! Speaking of scents, you might want to be mindful of hypoallergenic options for your more sensitive guests. Roses, hydrangea, tulips, and begonias are flowers that produce less pollen, for example.

Theme #5: Back to the Barn

While it's not so much of a ‘new' trend, barn-themed weddings are going strong and here to stay. Rustic, natural, and full of charm, the barn wedding is another great way to celebrate without breaking the bank (depending on the materials provided, of course). It's easy to find a barn venue here in Pennsylvania! Ramp up the good times with some square dancing, barrel seats, and bouquets in mason jars. We'll give you a tip: opt for sneakers or even boots instead to save your fancy heels and loafers from the dirt floors.

From rustic architecture to native flora, these 2017 themes are sure to delight your natural side and add a memorable twist to wedding traditions. Which of these themes do you like best? Are you inspired by any of them for your own wedding? Feel free to share your thoughts with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We wish you a Happy New Year!
