It's nearly time for the stretch of the Delaware River situated between New Hope and Lambertville to again act as a backdrop for the crowd-pleasing fireworks shows known as Friday Night Lights. Patios will be opened and stores and restaurants will extend their hours in anticipation of the First Friday evening festivities.

The schedule for 2018 is as follows:
Friday, July 6
Friday, August 3
Friday, September 7

(The line-up is subject to change based on weather conditions and funding)

This event is sponsored by the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau. They hold the event to celebrate the community and support downtown businesses.

This year the fireworks show got a boost from members of the community as well. Organizers set up an online fundraiser to help defray the cost of the fireworks shows, which raised $16,000 in just 26 days. Each show costs approximately $11,000, including fireworks, logistics, and public safety. The fundraiser goal is $40,000 for the season.

Happening Tip: If you want to make an evening out of it head out during daylight hours and check out some of the stores that line the streets near the river. From antiques to toys to apparel, there are several unique local finds. Make a reservation at one of Lambertville or New Hope’s dining establishments, many have outdoor seating, making them the perfect place to grab a glass of wine, beer or an artisan cocktail. Or if you are heading out with the kids grab some ice cream and enjoy the show.
