Summer is the season for farmers markets. They are the best place to get local and organically grown produce, locally crafted beverages, baked goods and even homemade soap. If you haven't already, be sure to visit a local market before the season is over. Here's a list of some of the best farmers markets in Bucks County.

Wrightstown Farmers Market Happening List Winner

When: Saturdays, May through Thanksgiving, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 2203 2nd St. Pike, Wrightstown, PA 18940
(next to Wrightstown Twp. Municipal Building, use Newtown for GPS)
Why we love them: They are known as a place to grab more than just fresh foods and veggies. They also have gourmet prepared foods, local pottery, raw local honey, locally roasted coffee, handmade soaps, and even dog treats.

Perkasie Farmers' Market Happening List Finalist 

When: Saturdays, June 1 through October 26 from 9 a.m. to noon
Where: 7th Street and Market Street
Why we love them: In addition to freshly picked fruits from places such as Brumbaugh’s Farm, you can check out unique vendors like Turkish Goods and Offbeat Gourmet. Plus, every week is a special event, featuring a local musician and a visiting community organization with crafts and activities.

Yardley Farmers Market Happening List Finalist 

When: Saturday, May 4 through October 12, (Except Yardley Harvest Day 3rd Saturday in September) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
They have an indoor winter market as well from 9 to 11:30 a.m. the first and third Saturday of Each Month, starting October 19.
Where: Outdoor in the Summer at Buttonwood Park located in Yardley Borough. The Winter Market is located at the Yardley Friends Meeting at 65 N. Main Street in Yardley Borough.
Why we love them: You'll find 7 local farmers offering conventional, sustainable and certified organic options. Plus, there's a variety of other vendors with wine, artisan chocolates, soaps, fresh baked bread and more. Kids will enjoy the free face painting, pop-up playgrounds and crafts.

Doylestown Farmers Market Happening List Finalist 

When: Every Saturday, April 20 through November 23 (except on Arts Festival weekend), from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: On South Hamilton Street, between West State Street and Oakland Avenue.
Why we love them: The Doylestown Farmers Market offers more than 30 rotating vendors local to Bucks County and the surrounding area. So there's always something new! Enjoy live music every week and special events throughout the season.

Quakertown Farmers Market and Flea Market

When: Friday and Saturday year-round from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 201 Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951
Why we love them: The Quakertown Farmer’s Market is like no other. It’s been around so long a whole building has built up around it and now shoppers can peruse in climate-controlled comfort. They have free parking and clean modern restrooms and get to boast over 225,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor shopping. One of the favorites in the Quakertown Market is the Sticky Buns from Fleck’s Bakery. But make sure you get there early, they often sell out.

Rice's Market

When: Tuesdays and Saturdays, March to December from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 6326 Greenhill Road, New Hope
Why we love them: Rice's Market is the oldest and largest outdoor market in Bucks County! It's a farmer's market, flea market, antique bazaar, vintage thrift, and food lover's paradise all in one destination.
