It's time to dust off your green gear, March 17th is nearly here! St. Paddy's began as a religious feast day in the 17th century to commemorate St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, but has since evolved into a day of merriment with a variety of festivals and events the world over. St. Patrick's Day is a day to celebrate Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, and lots and lots of green! Everyone's a little bit Irish on St. Paddy's… take a look below for your guide to Saint Patrick’s Day 2020  in Bucks County!

Annual Newtown Irish Festival at Green Parrot

St. Paddy's unWINEd Weekend at Shady Brook Farm – CANCELLED

Shady Brook Farm is hosting three days of Irish music, Irish dancers, Irish food, drinks and loads of fun. It kicks off Friday night with the last Winter unWINEd concert of the season, then music and dancing all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Come eat, drink and be Irish!

The Irish Marketplace

For the third year in a row, The Main Street Marketplace is turning into The Irish Marketplace for Saint Patrick's Day! Come out with the family and enjoy live music all day, Bagpipes, Irish dancers from Ryan Kilcoyne School Dancers, and a whiskey tastings. There will be amazing food from 3 great restaurants and drink specials from Hops/Scotch.

Newtown Shamrock Shuffle 5K

When: Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to noon
Where: 23 N. State Street, Newtown

Before drinking and partying the day away, get in some exercise for a good cause: A Love for Life. A Love for Life is dedicated to raising funds for pancreatic cancer research. Once you finish running through historic Newtown, keep the party going! Shuffle through Newtown where participating bars, restaurants, and shops will be offering specials and giveaways.

Shamrock Shuffle 5K Afterparty at Temperance House

When: Saturday, March 14 from 9:30 a.m. to Sunday, March 15 at 1:30 a.m.

What would St. Patrick’s Day be without a festive parade showcasing the green, the art and the pride of the Irish? This Bucks County tradition stretches back to 1989!

Starting at 10:30 a.m. on March 14th, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade will feature more than 2,000 participants—including pipes, dancers, mummers, and local marching bands. After passing through the streets of Bucks County, the parade will conclude at 1:30 p.m at the Levittown American baseball fields on New Falls Road.

Irish Fest 2020 at Triumph

When: Saturday, March 14 from noon to midnight
Where: Triumph Brewing Company of New Hope, 400 Union Square Dr, New Hope

Starting at noon, a day filled with Irish Music, Irish Food, and of course Irish Beer! Family friendly – there will be face painting and a balloon artist from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Live music starts at 1 p.m.

Traditional Irish menu is available March 13 through March 17th. In addition to Saturday, there will be live music on Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations at The Five Four Bar & Grill

The Five Four opens early on Saturday, March 14 for pre-parade breakfast. Come in early to fuel for the parade, and then head back in the afternoon for live entertainment all day long! Family friendly fun during the day and then 21+ after 8 p.m.

There will be additional entertainment on the night of the actual holiday with Irish dancers at 6 p.m. and live music from Connelly & Murphy until 10 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day Party at Steam Pub

Pre-game for St. Patrick's Day with a Sunday Funday party! From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., there will be live music by Pog Mo Thoin, then bagpipes at 3 p.m., followed by live music by Four for the Road from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be Irish food and cocktail specials. No cover!

Then, Steam Pub will have festivities going all afternoon on St. Patrick's Day with live music, Irish dancers, bagpipers, Irish cuisine and Irish inspired specialty cocktails. There's no cover! Doors open at 11 a.m., seating is on a first come first serve basis.

Bring the kids to a special Irish themed “Music & Movement” Family Storytime! Celebrate like the Irish as listen to stories about luck, move like a leprechaun, and dance to traditional Irish music. Make a rainbow or shamrock craft to take home. Dress in green and come join the fun!

St. Patrick's Day Dine at Sesame Place

Dip It Green for St. Patrick's Day! with Newtown Fun

When: Sunday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Newtown Township Administration Building, 100 Municipal Drive, Newtown

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by baking and decorating green treats. Mint chocolate chip cookie dough balls and shamrock cookies are just a few treats junior bakers will make and take home. In addition to making treats, there will also be a holiday-themed storytime. This event is for children ages 4-8 (and a parent) and costs $18 for residents, $22 for non-residents. Register here.

Leprechaun Story Time and Scavenger Hunt at the Warminster Library

When: Tuesday, March 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Kids will listen to St. Patrick's Day books and sing themed songs. Next, everyone will help a leprechaun friend find his pot of gold by searching the library for all the colors in the rainbow. All ages are welcome, no need to register.

Bucks Live! presents Larry Kirwan, leader of the Irish rock group Black 47 and host of Celtic Crush on SiriusXM, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Bucks County Community College in Newtown. Kirwan, a founder of American Celtic Rock, will be celebrating the release of a new Black 47 compilation CD, St. Patrick’s Day Party. Joined by Andrew Sharp, piper/fiddler/flautist/vocalist, they’ll revisit many of the iconic Black 47 songs from the new album, including Funky Ceili, Livin’ in America, James Connolly, 40 Shades of Blue including Hard Times (expected to open on Broadway later this year as Paradise Square).
Known for their exuberant and passionate live shows, the pints will be flowing and the craic will be mighty as Black 47 fans, Celtic Crushers and all who love Irish music will begin their St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

In the lobby before the show, local band Hobnail will perform from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. And local Celtic Dancers from the Ryan Kilocycle Irish school of Dance will perform from 6:45- 7 p.m.

After you’ve feasted on the finest Irish dishes, why not infuse yourself with the Irish spirit through the Glengarry Bhoys. Channeling their Celtic roots, the Glengarry Bhoys fuse Rock and Celtic styles in a way that excite and delight any audience.

Held on Saturday, March 14, the fundraiser show will support the Celtic Cultural Alliance with $5 from each ticket donated to CCA. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets range from $23 to $29.50, depending on available seating. Purchasing a ticket in-person will save concert-goers a $6.50 processing fee!
