Join career counseling professional Gary Lachow on Tues., Jan. 16 at 7 pm for this workshop on how to boost your job interviewing skills. Whether interviewing in a formal or casual environment, learn to tailor the way you present yourself to get the job you want. This program is for all levels of job seekers, whether first timers, those seeking a career change or those returning to the work force. The program is free, but prior registration is required. PA CareerLink offers several workshops for job hunters through the Job Gateway programs located at its two Bucks County locations. Topics including assessing skills, writing resumes and cover letters, interview techniques and special considerations for those over age 50. // Finding a Job After 50: Learn how to handle specific job search issues that increasing numbers of job seekers over age 50 encounter in a competitive market. Two classes are offered in Perkasie on Jan. 5 and 25 from 9-11 am.
// Bridging the Skills Gap: Assess your marketable skills and learn how to increase your potential. Offered in Bristol on Jan. 12 from 9-11 am.
// Cutting Your Job Search by 50%: Discover how to search for jobs efficiently, keep yourself organized and gain tips for how to keep your job search fresh and focused over time. Offered in Bristol location on Jan. 22 from 1-3:30 pm and in the Perkasie location on Jan. 26 from 9-11 am.
// Resume Revival: Create or update your resume, focusing on what to include and how to format your presentation of skills. The Bristol location offers two sessions on Jan. 17 and 24 from 9am to 12 pm. The Perkasie location is holding two sessions on Jan. 19 and 29 from 9-11 am. Participants are requested to bring any current copies of their resume for review and editing.
// Writing a Cover Letter: Grab the attention of employers with a strong cover letter that presents your skills and highlights you above other job-seekers. Attendees should bring a copy of their resume and a flash drive if possible. Perkasie sessions are offered on Jan. 12 and 30 from 9-11 am. Another session is available in the Bristol office on Jan. 26 from 9-11 am.
Nailing the Interview: Learn how to complete the process with a successful interview and land the job during this workshop at the Perkasie location on Jan. 24 from 9-11 am. Gain tips on answering difficult questions and the importance of following up after the interview.
