This morning, Bucks County awoke to sunny skies & mild temperatures, kicking spring fever into high gear. My boyfriend & I decided to enjoy the weather by heading up to Sand Castle Winery for a tasting and tour. We rolled down the car windows & took in the riverside drive up to Erwinna.  You cannot miss the winery with its grand entrance at the base of a hill off the river.  Atop the hill sits a large sand castle-shaped building that houses the tastings and expansive fermentation room.  We opted for the $10 tasting & tour, which was a really great deal. One of the owners brought our group on a very informative tour, and then we ended with a tasting of about 10 wines.  Sand Castle really went out of their way to provide a complete wine tasting experience, with generous pours & food pairings- fresh thyme with a dry Reisling,  rosemary with Pinot Noir, oranges in a Claret, white chocolate with a sweet Reisling, & chocolate with Cabernet Sauvignon.  Is your mouth watering yet? After the tasting, they served complimentary cheese & we were free to roam the beautiful estate with its gorgeous river views.  We have been to several of the wineries on the Bucks County wine trail & this was definitely one of our favorites.  I recommend taking a trip to Sand Castle on the next sunny day- hopefully we don't have to wait too long!
