art in the podIt’s back to school season, which also means it’s back to school activity time! With modern children constantly plugged into technology, making sure they’re involved in extracurricular activities is more important than ever. For local children interested in exploring their artistic side, they’re turning to Art in the Pod in Churchville.

Art in the Pod’s after-school art program, taught by Nina Kohn, is designed to provide an enriching experience through each child’s own artistic expressions.  Kids learn in a fun and nurturing environment, where students feel comfortable expressing their unique talents to create beautiful works of art. Students will work with a wide variety of mediums in drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, and more. All instruction is catered to each child’s unique needs and interests.

Beyond exploring their artistic identity, children will also gain important skills to apply beyond the studio. Art plays a central role in cognitive, motor, language, and social-emotional development and strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, contributing to overall academic achievement and school success.

The 10 week sessions start Monday, October 7th, and run for 10 weeks. But the fun doesn’t have to stop there- enthusiastic students will have the chance to sign up for more classes, including an upcoming 12 week session later this year.

Register here for your child’s spot before class fills up and make sure to follow Art in the Pod on Facebook to learn all about the latest art classes, parties and events.
