Annual Kid’s TRI

On Sunday, August 2, the Newtown Athletic Club (NAC) will host its 4th Annual Kid’s TRI event at 9 a.m. This event is open to both members of the NAC and the general public, and is for children ages 5-13. The event cost is $30 for NAC members and $30 plus a $10 registration fee for non-members. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, a finisher’s medal, a goodie bag, and entry to the post-race party.

The Kid’s TRI is an event where kids will swim, bike, and run through a course, competing with children in their age group. This year, the NAC is hoping to make the Kid’s TRI bigger and better than ever before! With several new changes, including a redesigned course and switching the event from Wednesday to Sunday, the NAC is hoping to increase attendance at this fun family event!

Participants will be divided into age groups (5-6, 7-8, 9-11, and 12-13) when registered and these groups will be further divided into heats. The distances for each event will vary by age group. The race will begin in the indoor pool and participants will cross the finish line at the outdoor pool. Parisi Speed School will lead a pre-race warm up and post-race cool down for participants.

After the race, participants are welcome to relax for the remainder of the day and enjoy snacks and refreshments at Escape Restaurant and the NAC outdoor pool complex. Family and friends of participants are welcome to join at no cost for NAC members. Participants may bring up to two non-member guests to the post race party for a fee of $10. Any additional non-member guests can purchase a guest pass through the NAC.

During the post-race party, winners in each age group will be announced and will receive a prize.
