Applications for the 2017 Shad Fest Art Scholarship, sponsored by the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, are now being accepted.

The 2017 scholarship is open to any high school senior in the geographic footprint served by the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau (Lambertville, New Hope, Stockton, Frenchtown, Milford, Titusville, Center Bridge, Lumberville, Point Pleasant, and Washington’s Crossing) that intends to pursue a degree in the arts. “The communities served by the DRTCC have shown amazing support of each other while maintaining their own unique individuality. Each community represented benefits from the next and it only made sense to expand the financial benefits to young, artistic individuals looking to bring their own new uniqueness through art education to the communities we serve,” said David Morgan, Executive Director of the DRTCC.

In 2016, two students were awarded $10,000 each from DRTCC Shad Fest Scholarship Fund towards their prospective degrees in the arts. “This scholarship not only helps to encourage and support the arts in this area, which has always been renowned as an eclectic and creative haven, but it provides an enormous financial assistance to families faced with the ever-increasing cost of higher education,” said Scholarship Committee Chairwoman, Amy Lavery.

Applications may be obtained and submitted online here. Deadlines for submission will be March 27th, 2017 with finalist interviews to follow the week of April 3rd, 2017.
