“Art in the Garden” at Paxson Hill Farm is scheduled for Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine. Now in its 17th year, this annual outdoor exhibit and sale of fine art and craft is set among Paxson Hill’s 32 acres of landscaped gardens featuring various themes. Paxson Hill Farm is the sponsor of the event.

Over seventy local fine artists and fine craftspeople will display their work on the grounds of Paxson Hill. Media represented include watercolor, oil and pastel painting; photography; ceramics; sculpture; fiber arts; jewelry; wood turning and wood furniture; blown glass and stained glass; poetry, and more. This year’s featured artist is Robert Barrett, whose painting “Return of an American Egret” appears below. Barrett’s work, including illustrated books and wildlife stamps in addition to his paintings, has been exhibited in galleries and shows throughout the United States.

Sweeping changes to the already-extensive gardens at Paxson Hill have made it possible to invite a greater number of artists than was formerly possible to participate in this year’s show. In addition to the greenhouse and raised beds of perennial and annual plants, shrubs and trees, visitors may tour the shade and sun gardens, formal plantings and hardscape, bridge gardens with water features and sculpture, the hobbit house and a maze, among others.

Paxson Hill Farm is located at 3265 Comfort Road in New Hope. There is no charge for admission or parking. For a list of participants, further information or directions, go to www.paxsonhillfarm.com
