A couple’s wedding day is one of the most historic days of their lives.

It’s a milestone, symbolizing a new personal era. Saying “I do” at a historic waterfront venue offers couples the chance to live their own historic moment while being part of a larger story. Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn combines the beauty, charm and rich character of a historic spot with contemporary elegance and breathtaking views. In fact, Lambertville Station Restaurant & Inn recently won a The Knot Best of Weddings 2020 award and was a 2019 Hunterdon Happening List Finalist for Best Wedding Venue.

Formerly a train depot, Lambertville Station was designed by Thomas Ustick Walter, the renowned architect who designed the dome of the US Capitol in Washington, D.C.  The station, completed in 1867, was once a hub of local activity with rail service to Trenton, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., the Poconos, New England, Boston, and even the Jersey Shore. Over time, the station fell out of use and was abandoned.  In 1984 it was bought by its current owners and lovingly restored, and is now one of the most popular wedding and special event venues in the area.

Couples love the fact that Lambertville Station is a one-stop venue. From the rehearsal dinner to the farewell brunch (and the ceremony, reception and overnight accommodations in between), every wedding-related event can be held on-site. But what really sets Lambertville Station apart is the level of personalization and attention to detail a couple can expect while planning and celebrating their big day. Far from being a cookie-cutter experience, the event staff at Lambertville Station takes time to get to know the personality of the wedding couple, and helps them reflect their personality in the design, décor, food, and style of their event. The sky is the limit when it comes to personalization. Maybe a bride and groom want to include a beloved pet in the ceremony, or design an ice sculpture of their favorite team mascot, or source flowers from their favorite tropical vacation spot? The team takes immense pleasure in going above and beyond to make the day feel like a true reflection of the wedding couple.

For many couples, incorporating family history or culture into the celebration is important, and the event team at Lambertville Station takes the opportunity to get every detail correct. For example, they now offer South Asian and Indian weddings on property, and can work with a hospitality consultant that specializes in Indian weddings.  Food is another important aspect of a celebration and another opportunity for personalization. The wedding dinner is a great opportunity to wow guests with unexpected choices and flavors, and Lambertville Station goes far beyond the standard chicken or steak fare.  If you can dream it, they can make it – from taco stations, to fresh sushi, to authentic ethnic cuisine, to creative signature cocktails.

The building’s architecture and surrounding scenery are jaw-dropping and make for stunning photos. The Riverside Ballroom, their largest event space, offers floor-to-ceiling windows with gorgeous views of the Delaware River, and the adjacent outdoor terrace lets guests mingle with one another during cocktail hour and take in the breathtaking scenery. Photo opportunities abound –colorful sunsets, the twinkly lights of New Hope across the river, the historic steel bridge, and many other unique architectural details all make excellent backdrops for memorable wedding photos.

Wedding packages also include a honeymoon suite. When the happy couple gets the chance to retreat to their private space, they'll enjoy a large, two room corner suite featuring floor to ceiling windows with spectacular river views, a bar and entertainment area, and double sided fireplace. The luxurious marble bath has a rain shower and  soaking tub overlooking the Delaware River.

Lambertville Station’s appeal extends beyond the property. There is plenty for guests to do just outside the door, including world-class museums, theaters, parks, and bike trails. Guests can explore the towns of Lambertville and New Hope on foot, as both towns are walkable and connected by a bridge. Picturesque and quaint, they offer a variety of boutique shops, galleries and antique stores. Those who like getting active in nature can canoe, kayak, hike, fish, tube, or raft the Delaware River.  The property is only about an hour away from Philadelphia and New York, making it an easy destination to reach.
