Last week, Rita's Italian Ice, a Bucks County institution that has taken the country (and soon to be world!) by storm with over 600 stores to date, celebrated their 30th birthday back where it all began.  

Some of the county's biggest personalities gathered at Rita's first store – 1227 Bristol Pike in Bensalem  – which opened in 1984.  Local dignataries helped scoop out Rita's new Wild Berry Italian Ice to enthusiastic locals, and Mayor Joe DiGirolamo of Bensalem issued a proclamation at noon making May 7th “Rita's Italian Ice Day”.
