Blue Penguin Frozen Yogurt New Hope

Strolling across the New Hope-Lambertville bridge this week, Pennsylvania welcomed me with an extra special surprise- a new frozen yogurt shop open in New Hope!

These popular self-serve, pay-by-weight frozen yogurt shops have been popping up all over the country over the past couple of years.  It was only a matter of time before a savvy entrepreneur opened a shop along the heavily walked streets of New Hope.

Blue Penguin opened just this past Friday, July 22nd- in time to reap the benefits of the thousands of visitors taking to the bridge every Friday night through Labor Day for fireworks. This frozen treat offers a healthier alternative to traditional ice cream along with giving customers the flexibility of determining their personal perfect serving size of fro-yo.

Their 12 flavors include Original Tart, Blueberry Acai Tart, Country Vanilla, Cookies-n-Cream, Very Strawberry, New York Cheesecake, Georgia Peach, Sugar Free Chocolate, Red Velvet, Peanut Butter, Sweet Coconut, & Mango Sorbet.  Best of all, many yogurts are Gluten Free with no fat and/or no sugar added. Customers serve themselves, adding as much of as many flavors as they like.  We opted for two combos- blueberry + original tart and blueberry + cheesecake.

Next up- toppings…32 of them! Ranging from fresh fruits like kiwi, blueberries, grapes, & strawberries to a variety of nuts to crushed candies & gourmet fudge, there is something to satisfy every sweet tooth. We experimented with blueberries, carob chips, and Reese's Pieces.  Add as much or as little as you'd like.

Finally, it was time for the big weigh-in!  The cost is $0.59 per ounce, costing about $10 total for 1 small serving with 2 toppings and 1 large serving with 1 topping. Welcome to the neighborhood Blue Penguin!
