Why we love it: This farmers market is a great place for strolling. Liberty Roasters offers cold iced coffees great for a summer cool-down, or you can try a sample of the wines at Crossings Vineyards. The market hosts vendors of produce, mushrooms, breads and pastries, honey, natural body products, plants, and gifts.

*Doylestown Farmers Market

When: Every Saturday, April  17 through Nov. 20  (except on Arts Festival weekend), from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: On South Hamilton Street, between West State Street and Oakland Avenue.

Why we love it: The oldest continually operating farmers market in the county is celebrating its 46th year. The market is a producers-only market, meaning that vendors must grow what they sell or make what they sell from local ingredients. They offer fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, meats, eggs, cheese, fresh and dried herbs and cut flowers. Products include breads and baked goods, sauces, honey, maple syrup, condiments, pickles, soaps, yarn, and more.

*Quakertown Farmers Market

When: Friday and Saturday year-round from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: 201 Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951

Why we love it: The Quakertown Farmers Market is like no other. It’s been around so long a whole building has built up around it, and now shoppers can peruse in climate-controlled comfort. They have free parking, clean, modern restrooms, and boast over 200,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor shopping. One of the favorites in the Quakertown Market is the Sticky Buns from Fleck’s Bakery. But make sure you get there early because they often sell out.
