Bucks Happening’s Weekly Guide

Can you believe we are already only two weeks away from the big turkey day? (Wait until you see our Thanksgiving day guide!) But before the hustle and bustle of the holidays (don’t worry, we’ll have you covered there, too!), take some time to enjoy the events going on in Bucks County. Also, in honor of past and present military see our Veteran’s Day Guide for special dedication events.

Countdown to Ecstasy, a tribute to Steely Dan, is playing Triumph Brewing Company, New Hope on Friday, November 12th.  Check out a sneak preview below:

Fox Chase Center 14th Annual Holiday Art Exhibition and Sale – Featuring the works by many of the region’s finest artists, this one-day-only event offers free admission and parking with complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres. Now in its 14th year, the exhibition and sale has long been a celebrated event that attracts art lovers across the tri-state area and raises money for research and prevention programs at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. The event is on Sunday, November 14th from noon-5pm at The New Hope Eagle Fire Hall, Sugan Road and 202 in New Hope.

The Holiday Craft Boutique – Grab some homemade gifts from over 85 juried artisans beginning November 13th through the 21st. The boutique is open on weekdays from 10am-9pm and weekends 10am-5pm. Located at 181 Park Ave in Chalfont, this is a great alternative to mall shopping!

The Great Toy Exchange – Reduce clutter, save money and get new and different toys for your children before the holidays begin. The Great Toy Exchange is a way for parents to exchange their children’s toys that are no longer age appropriate or played with by their child for other toys that are age appropriate and will interest their child. Simply bring your clean, unbroken and generally good conditioned toys to The Great Toy Exchange. Place them in the area of estimated value. Then review the other toys at The Exchange and select toys that are of the approximate value to what you contributed. Parents will be using the honor system and The Great Toy Exchange is free a program open to the community. The event takes place on Saturday, November 13th from 8am-10am at the Superior Woodcraft’s Showroom in Doylestown.

Philly Fit Bash – Take some extra time before the holiday rush to get fit! On Sunday, November 14th from 11am-3pm, spend the day at Philadelphia Sports Club (Highpoint) for the biggest workout party. Yoga, karate, dance studios, tae bo, pilates, self defense, aerobic dance, belly dancing, home remedies, healthy cooking demos, in home workouts, gym workouts, and outdoor workouts.  Also a de-stressing area, free massages, holistic healing tips, acupuncture, essential oils demonstrations, reiki, refexology, shiatsu, beauty makeovers, hair, make-up, fitness fashion, and skin care. What more could you want?

Mr. Jamie Hollander

Harvest Festival – Jamie Hollander in New Hope is hosting a day full of food, music, a book signing and more. On November 13th from 1-5pm, visit the store and taste all the delicious foods (it’s one of my favorite places)!
