Bucks County truly shines in the Fall and there is no shortage of awesome Halloween events happening countywide. We have it all- from haunted hayrides to costume parades, from scary and spooky to kid-friendly fun for the whole family. Check out these spirited Halloween-themed events and fun, safe places to take the kids trick-or-treating!

Friday October 25th

Boo Bash at the YMCA
Doylestown– The Boo Bash at the YMCA is a family-friendly costume dress rehearsal with fun music, dancing, games, prizes, and refreshments. This event will take place from 6:30-8:30 pm and is free to the community.

Mercer By Moonlight
Doylestown- Discover the history and folklore of some of Mercer Museum’s more chilling or ghoulish objects at the Mercer by Moonlight Tour. Included are the museum’s hearse, gallows, “witch” doctor’s canes, brooms, and more. This is a family friendly event for ages 8 and up. Light refreshments will be served following the tour. Tours begin at 7pm and 8 pm and the fee is $12/$10 for members and $10/$8 for youths under 12. Reservations are required, call 215-348-9461

Gaggle of Ghouls Walk
Doylestown– Led by PVNC’s somewhat Ghoulish naturalists, embark on an eerie walk through the trails of Peace Valley Nature Center at their Gaggle of Ghouls event. Along the way encounter some “creatures” that will expose myths about the creepy and frightening nature of cats, rats, bats, snakes, and other things that go bump in the night. Walks are ongoing throughout the evening and no pre-registration is required. This event runs from 6:30-9:00 pm. Fee is $3 for members and $6 for non-members.

 

Saturday October 26th

Newtown Halloween Parade
Newtown- The Newtown Halloween Parade begins at 10 am at Stocking Works with Registration beginning at 9am. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the parade at the Newtown Theatre and refreshments will be served. What a halloween costume says about a guyThis year’s categories include:

This event is rain or shine, so in case of rain (or unexpected snow like last year) all registration and judging will take place in the Newtown Theatre starting at 9 am.

Halloween at the Lower Bucks YMCA
Fairless Hills–  Trick or treating, Halloween arts and crafts, a family witch hunt and a refreshments (available for purchase) at the Lower Bucks Family YMCA on Oxford Valley Road in Fairless Hills on October 27th from10AM-1PM. The suggested donation is $10 per family or $4 per person. 

Halloween Happening
Richboro– The 37th Annual Halloween Happening at the Recreation Center begins at 11am with costume registration and music by Cool Beans. The costume parade begins at noon with prizes given out for the top costumes in the following age groups: 2 and under, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and a special family category. Following the parade enjoy treats, games, face painting, a fortuneteller, and more. Free treat bags will be given to the first 300 children age 12 and under.

Quakertown Farmer’s Market’s Annual Halloween Costume Parade
Quakertown– The Quakertown Farmer’s Market presents its 21st Annual Halloween Costume Parade and Contest on October 26th. All categories will have a winner and a runner up, and the grand prize winner will receive $250 in Market Bucks! Trick or Treaters are also welcome starting at 1 pm to visit merchants to pick up treats.

Sunday October 27th

Lambertville Halloween Parade

Lambertville- Join in on the fun and participate in one of New Jersey’s oldest Halloween Parades at the Lambertville Halloween Parade on October 27th.

Judging for prizes will include:

Tour and Ghost Stories at the Pearl S. Buck House
Perkasie– Join the Pearl S. Bucks House, one of the most historic houses in Bucks County, for a night of candlelit tours and ghost stories, hayrides and refreshments. Attendees will experience authentic documented ghosts stories from the 68-acre national historic landmark, Green Hills Farm, including the tales of : Devil Harry, the nosy colonial maid; Mrs. Loris- the housekeeper; Magdalena- the deserted fiance; and others from Pearl S. Buck’s novels. Tickets for the event at $10 and free for children under 5 years old. Tickets must be reserved in advance. Tours are on the hours at 5pm, 6pm, & 7pm. Appropriate for Middle School aged children up to adult. Includes freshly pressed apple cider and cookies.

Family Halloween Witch Trial
Morrisville– Enjoy trick-or-treating, fall activities, and games during this free event at Pennsbury Manor from 1-4pm. Witch Trial: In 1684, Margaret Mattson was accused by her neighbors of witchcraft. William Penn presided over the trial.  Is she guilty or innocent?

Revolutionary Ghost Stories
Warminster– The ghost story event at the Historic Moland House from 1pm to 4pm is free to attend. For those who wish to tour the house, a small donation is appreciated.

Ghost Stories from a Writer’s House
520 Dublin Rd, Perkasie
October 27th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Perkasie– Come in costume and experience authentic, documented ghost tales from Green Hills Farm and listen ot a reading of Pearl S. Buck’s ghostly short story about “Devil Harry.” $10 admission fee includes a Candlelight Ghost House tour. Pre-school children are free.

Thursday October 31st

Mall-O-Ween
Langhorne– Start your trick or treating early at Mall-O-Ween at the Oxford Valley Mall on October 31st from 4:30-6:30 pm. Trick or Treat in a safe, weatherproof environment in this mall-wide event.

Saturday November 2nd

Trick or Treat for Grown-Ups
Washington Crossing–  Learn to pair wine and sweets at Crossing Vineyards & Winery in Washington Crossing on Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 pm.  Want to come in costume? Go for it! Cost: $35 per person. Reservation are a must! Call 215-493-6500, ext. 19 or buy on-line: www.crossingvineyards.com. (must be 21 or older to participate).

Canal-O-Ween's Jack-O-Lantern Stroll, 2011Ghost Tours of New Hope
Main St & Ferry St, New Hope
Fridays and Saturdays in September & October, 8:00pm
Follow a lantern-led “walk” along picturesque streets where you’ll learn about the doings of such places as the towpath itself; or see the phantom hitchhiker who may pass you in the moonlight; or see the historic inn where Aaron Burr appears from time to time and stares with sightless eyes…. Delaware Canal, N. Edgewater Ave, Yardley
October 27 – November 2nd
Carving, lighting, and strolling by jack-o-lanterns since 2009! A week-long traditional-style Halloween lighting of jack-o-lanterns along the Delaware Canal. Bucks County residents can enjoy the beauty of the season within the natural setting of the Canal itself. The carve-a-thon is scheduled for Sunday October 27th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
Bucks County Playhouse, 70 South Main Street, New Hope
October 23rd – November 2nd
The Rocky Horror Show is back and better than ever – LIVE ON STAGE at the Bucks County Playhouse! Directed by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster and choreographed by Lorin Latarro, this production is going to be a must see!
