The smell of barbecues wafting through the air, fireworks popping in the distance, and kids sprinting towards the ice cream truck for the first time of the season- yep, it's time for Memorial Day in Bucks County!

Parades & Services

Doylestown

Doylestown 5k
May 25th, 9:00am
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 225 E. Ashland Ave
The Doylestown 5K through downtown Doylestown has always been the biggest of the series races. There will be a special registration on Friday, May 24th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Gym. Pre-registered runners can also pick up race packets that day. There will be a “Show your Spirit” contest for the neighbors and houses on the course. In addition, cowbells will be distributed to the cheering crowd. Finally, the Jerry Watkins band will provide entertainment during the award ceremony at Star Park, located behind Puck. Church parking lot will be closed at 8:30 am. Park for free at the parking garage located at 228 N. Broad St. or library lot on 150 S. Pine Street.

Parade

The parade starts at CB West, east on West Court Street, east on west State Street, north on North Main Street to Doylestown Cemetery for service.

Pancake Breakfast
Doylestown Masonic Temple, 56 E. State St

Who doesn't like pancakes? Come before, after or during the Doylestown Memorial Day Parade. Sit down have a cup of coffee, juice, or milk, along with pancakes, sausage and delicious syrup (lite and sugar free available). All you can eat at $6 for adults, $3 for children from 6 to 10 years old and free for children under 6 years old.

Free guided tours and light refreshments. Special 104th PA Volunteers exhibit.

Memorial Day Service

A Memorial Day Service will be held at Hilltown Civic Park on Rt. 152 near the village of Hilltown at 10AM on to honor servicemen and women. All are welcome to attend.

Langhorne

Parade
Starts at American Legion, 115 W. Richardson Ave
May 27th, 9:00am
The parade kicks off at 9:00am outside the American Legion Jesse W. Soby Post No. 148 at 115 W. Richardson Ave. The parade will honor all veterans who have served and sacrificed in all of America's wars and conflicts, said legion member and Bristol Township police Chief James McAndrew.

Newtown

Service
Council Rock North High School
May 23rd, 9:00am
This is a revision in the Veteran’s Day Ceremony at the high school. On Veteran’s Day will celebrate the living veterans of the area while at the Memorial Day Ceremony we will remember our deceased veterans and especially the young men who graduated from Council Rock North High School. The guest speaker for the first Memorial Day Ceremony will be Council Rock North English teacher and veteran David J. Boell. As with the Veteran’s Day Ceremony, all are invited to attend. Veteran’s and current military personnel are invited to attend in uniform. We would recommend getting there by 8:30.

Parade
Starts at Commons West Building, Washington Ave

The parade is organized by American Legion Post 440. It starts at the Commons West Building and continues through the Newtown Cemetery, where a short ceremony will be held. The parade continues on through several other cemeteries and ends at Post 440 on Linden Ave.

Penndell/Hulmeville

The Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade takes place on Lincoln Avenue (Hulmeville) and concluding at the Penndel Memorial Ball Field. The Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade was founded with the intent to honor those who work to defend our beautiful country.

Perkasie

Parade
Starts at Seventh & Chestnut Streets

The Parade will begin at 9AM from Seventh and Chestnut Streets, proceed down seventh to Market Street, Third Street, Chestnut Street and then on to Fifth street for the Veterans Memorial Service.

Quakertown

Parade & Ceremony
Starts at 9th & Park Ave

Join in remembrance of veterans at the American Legion Post #242 Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Event is being held on May 27th beginning at 9:00 am. The parade begins at 9th & Park Avenue and will proceed north on 9th Street to Mill Street, turning east onto Mill Street and going to Memorial Park.

Warminster Township

Memorial Day Ceremony & Parade
Township Building, Henry Ave

The parade starts at Township Building east on Henry Avenue, North on York Road, East on Street Road, North on Louis Drive, Parade ends at VFW Post on Louis Drive. With the weather permitting (Rain Date on June 1), watchers can expect to see:
William Tennent HS Band, MacGregor Pipe Band, South Philadelphia String Band, 104th PA Volunteer Infantry Company C, Community Service Groups, Fire Engines, Ambulance and Emergency Service Vehicles, Delaware Valley Corvette Club, Clowns, and much more!

Washington Crossing

Memorial Day Observance
Washington Crossing Historic Park, Thompson Neely House

Join Washington Crossing in honoring the fallen soldiers of the Winter Campaign of 1776 at the Revolutionary War Soldiers Gravesite behind Thompson Neely House, Washington Crossing Historic Park (located two miles south of Hew Hope, PA at the intersection of River and Aquetong Roads). Admission is free

Yardley/Morrisville

Parade

Local veterans, borough officials and community volunteers have again all stepped up to support the 2013 Yardley Memorial Day events. Starting at 7:00 am, 21-gun salutes will be issued at Slate Hill, Saint Andrews and Saint Ignatius cemeteries.

Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks
Sesame Place, 100 Sesame Rd, Langhorne
May 27th, 9:00pm
The night sky will sparkle at Sesame Place, with a spectacular fireworks show, set to Sesame Street music, making the festivities on Memorial Day weekend truly memorable. Fireworks will begin at 9:00pm. Sunday Only. Entry into the park will be limited 5 minutes prior to the start of fireworks. Tip: For the best view watch from the park's front plaza.
