You'll no longer have to venture to Philly or AC to get a taste of Jose Garces. The chef's new, long-awaited restaurant opened in the newly renovated Ghost Light Inn on June 15. Located next to the Bucks County Playhouse, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Delaware River while you eat. The menu consists of spruced-up American fare with a focus on locally sourced, farm-to-table dishes. (Garces actually owns a 40-acre farm in Bucks County, which partially supplies the produce for his restaurants!) Standout dishes include Barnegat Light scallops, pork county ribs, and Pocono rainbow trout with ham. Be sure to order a theater-inspired drink like the “Break a Leg” with bourbon, lemon, honey and raspberry.

Nina's Waffles

2987 S. Eagle Road, Newtown
267-759-6937
ninaswaffles.com

Nina's Waffles opened in the Village at Newtown this April, making it the 5th location in Bucks County. The shop offers unique flavors of homemade gourmet ice cream (they pasteurize the base at their own dairy plant) as well as hand-cooked Liege style waffles.

The new shop, which is located in the historic Toll House building, is part of the rejuvenation of the entire Village of Newtown. The renaissance was kicked off last year with the opening of Harvest and has led to a total face lift of the center. Since then, we've also seen a drive-thru Starbucks, Factory Donuts and Melt Shop, and plans are in the works for an Iron Hill Brewery and Chipotle.

Canal's End Antiques

215-874-9100

Canal's End is a new addition to Bristol Borough, offering multiple vendors and a large variety of vintage items. Peruse their collection of antiques, rare collectibles, unique gifts, artwork, tools, furniture and more.

Vince's Pizzeria & Taproom

www.vincespizzeriaandtaproom.com

Couple Heather and Ed Murray are the owners of the Newtown pizzeria that opened on June 10. Ed's parents are the owners of the original Vince's Pizza in Northeast Philly, and the original pizza recipes goes back to 1946. Vince's Pizzeria & Taproom will feature the same menu as Vince's NE, plus a few signature pies that their own family loves as well as salads served family style.

What makes this spot different from every other “mom & pop pizza shop” in Bucks? A wall of 20 self-serve taps! Pour your own beer and pay by the ounce with a coded card. You're in full control.
