Newly engaged couples are falling in love with the rustic outdoor wedding charm captured by so many of today's wedding websites; Pinterest boards full of stunning vintage chic imagery- antique furniture seating, brides wearing cowboy boots, hay-stack lounges, and so much more.  Vintage chic settings and “DIY” (Do-it-yourself) projects, featuring anything from mason jar centerpieces to burlap linens to vintage furniture seating have gained popularity, allowing modern couples to incorporate their personalities into their big day. It's no surprise then, that many of those couples are flocking to the gorgeous grounds of Holly Hedge Estate and the riverfront 1740 House for their dream Bucks County wedding. Bucks Happening Weddings got the chance to speak to owner, Joe Luccaro, about how his popular Bucks County venue is staying on top of bridal trends.

Modern brides and grooms are more prepared than ever thanks to countless online resources at their fingertips.  They're planning pros in search of a wedding venue that will allow them to not only incorporate their personal touches but also to soak in every bit of their big day. Solebury's Holly Hedge Estate encourages brides & grooms to make the property their home for the day- to linger around the expansive grounds, relax in the bridal suites, and settle into their charming hotel. In fact, the celebration often continues well beyond the daytime due to their expansive lodging options. Owner, Joe Luccaro explains one of the estate's biggest draws,

We have become a ‘destination wedding' site for out of town brides; with 39 rooms between the two properties, couples can offer their guests unique accommodations.24 River side rooms at the 1740 house and 15 at our circa 1770's estate.

Of course, the couple must not only plan their perfect day, but also make plans to capture it!  Breathtaking photo & video opportunities are a top priority for couples.  With formal gardens, natural meadows, ponds and a rustic Fieldstone barn and courtyard, Holly Hedge offers unique and varied photo opportunities for couples.

When it comes to food, many couples are also thinking outside the box- opting for seasonal pie bars over traditional wedding cakes or comfort food appetizers – like mini sliders,or macaroni and cheese – over traditional wedding formalities. Another top priority?  Locally sourced foods. Holly Hedge's award winning foods combine seasonally home grown and locally sourced fruits, and vegetables with the the freshest ingredients available. Their chefs actually encourage couples to customize their menu to fit the seasons as well as their tastes, even often adapting favorite family recipes into the event.

In fact, Luccaro believes that sharing the beauty of Bucks County with Holly Hedge brides and grooms is one of the most gratifying parts of his job,

We have been fortunate to travel extensively. Wherever we go we meet fellow travelers and tell them where we live they remark on how beautiful Bucks County is. We marvel how each season brings a new “palate ” of colors to the area. Having the ability to share this with our Brides and Grooms is extremely gratifying.

So when the opportunity arose to expand their ability to share Bucks County's beauty with others, Luccaro jumped at the chance, becoming a part owner of the 1740 House, located in the quaint charming village of Lumberville. What started for Luccaro in New Hope over 30 years ago, with Mother's and Havana restaurants and Holly Hedge, has now expanded to include the quaint inn and intimate event facility.

My wife and I honeymooned there many years ago. When the 24 room Inn became available it was kismet. An opportunity to add additional lodging and have a more intimate facility to host smaller weddings and rehearsal dinners was a dream come true. The best part, it is 3 miles and 5 minutes from HollyHedge.

Thanks in part to Luccaro, Bucks County weddings will continue to exceed brides and grooms expectations for many years to come.
