We're creeping into the middle of summer, and with temperatures soaring near 100 degrees, mother nature won't let us forget it. The Washington Crossing Open Air Theater in Titusville, NJ will present the comedy Moon Over Buffalo from Jul 9 – 11. Written by Ken Ludwig, Moon of Buffalo is about two stage actors on tour in Buffalo, NY with an acting company performing Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives in repertory. Fate has given these thespians one more shot at starring roles in The Scarlet Pimpernel epic and director Frank Capra himself is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinee performance. Will Capra see Cyrano, Private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two? Hilarious misunderstandings piled on top of madcap misadventures shine in this valentine to theatre hams everywhere.
On Saturday & Sunday, the Tinicum Arts Festival, a great Bucks County tradition, will be held at Tinicum Park in Erwinna, PA. Enjoy the works of over 150 regional artists in the centerpiece Art Barn; delight in the creations of over 100 artists and craft artisans displayed under the trees; discover treasures at the White Elephant Tent; choose from literally thousands of volumes at the Book Wagon; make a bid at the silent auction, hear outstanding live musical entertainment, meet talented Bucks County authors, savor a fresh-squeezed lemonade, a tasty sandwich or a home-baked desert in the picnic grove.
The Juniors Only Disc Golf Tournament (16 & under) round one will be held Saturday from 11am-4pm at Tyler State Park. Kids can compete in under 10, under 13, and under 16 categories. Lunches will be included in the cost of entry, which ranges from $10-15 depending on the age of the competitor. Good luck!
On Saturday night at 8pm, Del Val College will host the 24th Season of Summer Gala Concert (also being held on July 24th). Performances will include renowned violinists Ayano Ninomiya and Arnaud Sussmann, flutist Tanya Witek, violist Catherine Beeson, and cellist Arash Amini. For the finale, the Philadelphia Orchestra’s associate principal clarinetist Samuel Caviesel will join members of the Wister Quartet for the Mozart Quintet and Philadelphia pianist Marcantonio Barone. Subscriptions are $45 and $35 and single tickets at $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors will be available at the door or by calling (610) 294-9361.
