Friends of the Free Library of NH & S Bus Trip to the American Revolution Museum @ American Revolution Museum

Come visit the highly acclaimed, brand new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.

Sponsored by the Friends of the New Hope & Solebury Library the trip will include charter bus transportation to and from the library on June 29th leaving from the New Hope High School parking lot departing at 8:30 am and returning around 4:30 pm. Our visit includes a 15 minute orientation film, a personal welcome by Matthew Skic , Assistant Curator at the museum who helped the museum prepare for its public opening. Matthew has extensive knowledge of the American Revolution recently receiving his M.A. as a fellow in the prestigious Winterthur Program. There will be time to visit the surrounding area if you wish, with Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell nearby. Enjoy lunch on your own at the Museum Café or several nearby restaurants.

Cost including bus trip and museum entry:  $45 FOL members and children: $50 non-members

Heritage Conservancy continues hosting regular tours of Aldie Mansion, the 1920s Tudor Revival home of Martha and William Mercer, Jr. of Doylestown! Come and see where the Von Trapp family sang at Martha’s 1941 Christmas party! Tours will be given on the 1st Thursday evening of the month at 6 pm and 7 pm, and on the second Tuesday of the month at 1 pm and 2 pm. Cost: $12 a person, $10 for senior citizens, and $8 for Heritage Conservancy members. Children 12 and under are free but require supervision. Please RSVP, call to learn more.
