Auditions Teen Youth Company ages 13-18
Acting Naturally will hold open auditions for their Teen Youth Company. Actors must be 13 prior to September 1, 2014 to qualify. Actors will perform in One Act Halloween Plays, songs & dances for their Halloween Extravaganza in October & a Holiday Musical in December. Actors will rehearse in January for a spring show to be performed in NYC.
Actors chosen for the Teen Company will Rehearse Saturday’s beginning in September through May in Morrisville, Pa. The participation fee is $350.00 September – December and $350.00 January 2015 – May 2015. Actors auditioning must have experience. They are taught advanced acting, singing and dancing techniques each week in a professional atmosphere inspiring actors who wish to pursue their dreams of performing. Actors offered positions are required to commit exclusively to the company for a nine month period with exceptions of their own school’s play. Actors interested in auditioning should email [email protected] or 267-798-9165 for an audition time; Actors should bring headshots and resumes and prepare a Musical theatre song and a one minute monologue.

With non-stop song and dance, the Story Tellers tell the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. Poland through the Ages: A Living History Event @ National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa

There will be entertainment, demos, period clothing, games, battles, storytelling, great food and fun for all.

The Philly POPS presents the second annual Comcast NBCUniversal Memorial Salute at the Mann, a community concert honoring the American tradition of service on Saturday, May 27 at 7pm during Memorial Day weekend. In celebration of those who serve, all tickets to the concert will be provided free of charge. Particular blocks of tickets will be provided for veterans, active military, Philadelphia police officers, and firefighters – plus local students and Boy and Girl Scouts.

The United States Army, Navy and Marine Corps were established in Philadelphia by the Continental Congress over 240 years ago. Today, Pennsylvania is home to thousands of veterans. Despite this deep military history, Philadelphia had not previously had a high-profile Memorial Day event. Similar to the POPS’ annual Christmas Salute concert which kicks off the holiday season with a free concert for members of the military and first-responder communities, and the annual patriotic July 3 concert on Independence Mall, this Memorial Salute at the Mann speaks to the POPS’ commitment to serving those who serve through its Salute Series.

Known for his work on the big screen, small screen, and Broadway, acclaimed conductor Larry Blank will lead this year’s program with guest vocalists Doug LaBrecque — who famously played both The Phantom and Raoul in the Harold Prince production of The Phantom of the Opera — and Broadway’s triple threat Christina Saffran.

The Voices of the POPS — a professional vocal ensemble that frequently performs in Salute Series shows — will add a rich layer to the orchestra’s patriotic melodies. A particularly resonant rendition of Hymn to the Fallen will include the Philly POPS Festival Chorus, a 180-voice strong choral group under the direction of Chorus Master Jeff Kern, and several hundred School District of Philadelphia choir students. A true night to remember.
