Friday Night Fireworks in New Hope & Lambertville, an event which has attracted thousands of people to the region on Friday evenings for the past 3 years, has officially been suspended for summer 2014.

Merchants and restaurant owners in the quaint river towns are divided as to whether the costs & commitment required to run the weekly firework display can be justified, with several local shop owners complaining that the large amounts of foot traffic has not necessarily created sales revenue. A group of businesses in Lambertville have expressed strong disapproval of the decision, even discussing moving ahead with future firework displays without the support of both towns.

With the show suspended for Fridays in summer 2014, the local chambers remain committed to working towards creative solutions to successfully attract crowds to New Hope & Lambertville in the future.
