While many of use work towards our own New Year Resolutions, it's important for parents to also consider ways to improve the lives of their little ones. This year, how can you help your kids work towards a healthy, happy life instilling in them core characters and values?

A great way to explore growth in children's physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively development is through the introduction of a new activity- a new sport, art classes, dance lessons.

Here is a round up of important 2016 enrollments for children's activities in Bucks County. This guide will continue to be updated throughout the year, so bookmark this page and check back for updates!

DANCE

THE DANCE ACADEMY

The Dance Academy in Holland, PA offers wide range of dance classes for various ages and interests:

Mommy-n-me class: Recommended for those under age of 2 ½
Independent 2 ½ year old creative dance class: This allows us to introduce the basics within a song and dance framework while also incorporating the security of having mommy right there in the classroom or in the very next room waiting!
Creative/tap for 3 and 4 year old dancers: A 45 minute class which offers creative dance, as well as an introduction to tap and the foundations of ballet.
Ballet/Tap Combination: These classes are offered at various levels. Combination classes incorporate ballet barre technique; tap rhythms, combinations, progressions, as well as an introduction to jazz and acrobatics.
Kinderdance Enrichment Program: A combination of classes that meets twice a week and allows young students to gain an in depth experience in ballet, tap, jazz, and acrobatics. These classes
meet Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday  and Thursday.
Theater Dance: This class is designed specifically for all actors, actresses, and singers, who want to expand and improve their dance ability. It is for those students who consider their forte to be acting
and singing. This class will teach all basic movement required in musical theater and help students to increase their ability to learn choreography quickly. It is offered in six week sessions in the fall and
spring.
Acrobatics: Carious tumbling tricks and acrobatic technique. Additionally, TDA emphasizes the importance of dance technique and choreography based primarily in the jazz, lyrical, and contemporary forum.
Rumble Tumble Tot’s: This class is an introduction to acrobatics. Children will learn proper tumbling technique and will develop an awareness of rhythm and counting all in a fun and safe environment.
Dialog Coaching/Audition training: Does your child have a part in the school musical, community theater, or want to prepare for an audition? Just contact us, our staff is prepared to run lines,
rehearse necessary choreography, and prepare your child for their upcoming performance. These  sessions can be booked in groups, semi-private, or private sessions, whichever best accommodates
your needs and schedules.

SPORTS

CENTRAL BUCKS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Sports: Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse

  • Register for Spring Lacrosse here. Closes 2/1/16.
  • Annual OPEN Soccer Tryouts are held in early Spring. The year-long soccer season for Travel begins in August and ends in June, with a short Winter break after the Fall season as well as after the Spring season in July. Date to be announced soon.
  • The basketball summer league begins accepting online registration April 1st.

COUNCIL ROCK LACROSSE
Sport: Lacrosse for boys and girls

Boys in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will participate in one or two practices per week that focus on skill development.  In-house games or controlled scrimmages against other age appropriate clubs will be scheduled on Saturday afternoons from mid-April through the end of May.  There will be additional opportunities to play in tournaments  Register here.

Girls in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will participate in one or two practices per week that focus on skill development.  In-house games will be held on Saturday afternoons from mid April through the beginning of June.  We will also make every effort to schedule age-appropriate, friendly scrimmages with other local lacrosse clubs. HILLTOWN SPRING SPORTS
Sports: Baseball, Connie Mack, Softball, Soccer and Lacrosse!
Register/pay online for 2016 Spring Sports.  Early registration discounts available through January 31st! Register here.

LANGHORNE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Sports: Baseball and softball open to boys and girls ages 4-18. The in house season begins in early April and runs through mid June. Practice & Game Schedules will not be available until after player evaluations in March.
Registration is open from January 1 – March 20 here.

LOWER BUCKS LACROSSE
Sport: Lacrosse for boys and girls from pre-K through 8th grade during the spring season.

MIDDLETOWN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Sports: Baseball, softball, hockey, basketball

Middletown Little League Clinic

MAA is offering Free clinic's in February run by the baseball coaches from Neshaminy High School. This 1 day clinic is free to any child playing Novice, Intermediate, or Majors Baseball at MAA for the 2016 season. The child must be registered and fully paid for the season with MAA to be eligible.

Teen Night: Friday March 11th, 7-10pm
Explore the art, symbolism and joy in creating Pysanky. Each participant will create a unique and beautiful egg ornament!

Teen Art Fridays
Art focused Teens can drop in every 2nd Friday as expert instructors provide guidance in a multitude of mediums including fine arts, multi-media, clay, jewelry, found object sculpture, print making, book making, personal masks, fiber and even portfolio building.

Family, Friends, and Me: New! Now each Sunday Afternoon 1 – 3 pm
Expanded Sunday Kids Clay Classes – no longer just 1 time per month.
Fun kids clay workshop, adult family members welcome!

BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE YOUTH COMPANY

Teens 13-18 audition to be part of this 5-week musical theatre conservatory in which students rehearse, take master classes, attend season shows, and do outreach performances. Program culminates in a 2-week run of THE SOUND OF MUSIC on the Bucks County Playhouse stage. Program runs from July 11 – August 13, 2016. Program is free of charge. Auditioners must prepare 16 bars each of two musical theatre songs — an uptempo and a ballad — and be prepared to dance.
