Christina PerriChristina Perri, now 27, has had her name in the music industry lights for four years now thanks to her 2010 performance on So You Think You Can Dance.  She grew up in Bensalem and attended Archbishop Ryan High School in Northeast Philadelphia.  Her hit “Jar of Hearts” was what sparked the interest of choreographer Stacey Tookey who used it in a dance between the 2010 contestants, Kathryn McCormick and Billy Bell.  Two weeks after the dance Perri performed the song on the show and the rest is history.

After SYTYCD she released her first album “Lovestrong” in May of 2011.  Her next big hit was the song “A Thousand Years” which was written and recorded for the film  “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”.  “A Very Merry Perri Christmas” was released in October 2012 and her latest record “Head or Heart” was released this past April.

Perri gets to relive the moment that made it all happen for her as she performs again on So You Think You Can Dance tonight, August 6, 2014 on Fox at 8pm.  She will be performing the single, “Burning Gold” from her latest album.  Perri intends to make this return a reunion of sorts as Kathryn McCormick will join season 9 SYTYCD champion, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp in a number choreographed by Stacey Tookey.
