In honor of Father's Day, the Newtown Athletic Club (the NAC) invited members to nominate the deserving men in their lives – their amazing dads, husband, brother or son that is deserving of the best Father’s Day ever.

After a heated competition, gathering hundreds of votes, Michael Lanctot was named the NAC's “Dad of the Year.” His grand prize – a “10 week transformation” – is valued over $10,000 with services provided from the NAC and their amazing local community partners!

Michael was nominated by his wife, Jodi Lanctot:

I want to nominate Michael because ever since my daughter Caroline and I were in a car accident in 2003, he stopped taking care of “himself” and started taking care of us. I know that’s what Dads and Husbands do, but I mean he stopped taking care of himself all totally. No more hair cuts, dentist appointments or even his own well check ups. He didn’t have time for them or would forget to make them or put work ahead of it because bills came in. He put himself on the bottom and now he’s a bit overweight and has high blood pressure and cholesterol and so on. So Mike is the one I’d like to put up for Dad of the Year.

Michael will also be honored at the end of a 10-week makeover program in mid September, 2015, which will include his friends and family, the media and the Community Partners who contributed to his success.
