If you saw the giant Doylestown Township Bicentennial float in Doylestown Memorial Day Parade you already know the work being put into the momentous 200 year anniversary. Check out upcoming events and commemorative swag you can grab to get in on the action.

Celebration
The big finale to cap off a summer of festivity will be the Doylestown Bicentennial Celebration planned for July 15, at Central Park, located at 425 Wells Road. This event will feature entertainment by musical guest Bigg Romeo and will end after a firework show at dark. Parking is $5 per car. DART Bus Shuttle will be available at the County Parking Garage at State and Main, Grundy Hall, and Colonial Heritage Park.

Trees
All summer there have been little reminders that Doylestown is going on year 200, like the parade float, like tree planting. The Doylestown Township Environmental Advisory Council is planting 200 oaks in parks throughout the township to mark the occasion. Sponsorships for those trees are still available at $200 per tree, which will include the donor name on a special honor board in the new township building.

Tiles
Moravian Pottery and Tile Works will be issuing commemorative Mercer Tiles. For $20 you can own a memorial red, green or blue glazed tile and blue matte tile. The tile is emblazoned with the township dates and star pattern seal. The tiles can be purchased through the township at the temporary offices located at 425 Wells Road. T-shirts and Hats are also available at the township office.

More festivities
A special Veterans Day event will be announced for November, and in December there will be a dedication of a time capsule at the new township building.
