Bucks County is facing a drug crisis with the number of overdose deaths involving opioids — heroin and opioid-based prescription painkillers — rising to 185 last year, up nearly 50 percent from 2015, philly.com recently reported.

The Yardley Boro Police Department and Mayor Harding are offering a free workshop to equip the community to fight the crisis. Head to St. Ignatius of Antioch (999 Reading Avenue, Yardley) on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 7pm-9pm for a free workshop highlighting the most common locally abused drugs, what they look like, how they are packaged, and the behaviors associated with their use.

The presentation, hands on visual aids, and discussion will be presented by local drug enforcement experts. The workshop is designed to generate and encourage community discussion, as awareness is power.

For free admission tickets visit Yardley Boro Hall at 56 South Main Street. This workshop is designed for adults only, no children please. Drug Awareness & Identification Workshop Brought to you by Mayor Harding and supported by the Yardley Boro Police Department and local law enforcement agencies.
