Art at Kings Oaks’ Pop-Up Exhibition Presents 26 American and International Artists
October 5 - October 21| Free
Art at Kings Oaks, the much-anticipated pop-up art exhibition near Newtown, Pennsylvania, returns for the sixth year this October 5 – 21. The exhibition features paintings, works on paper, sculpture, ceramics, and textiles works from 26 renowned and emerging American and international artists in an historic barn and chapel.
When Bucks County painter Alex Cohen and nearby artists put on a small group show at Kings Oaks in 2012, Cohen couldn’t anticipate how the project might evolve. Now with over two-dozen participating artists and more than 800 visitors each year, co-curators Cohen and theatre artist Clara Weishahn are expanding the exhibition to three weeks and bringing artwork from across the U.S., France, and Israel. Despite its growth, Art at Kings Oaks is still an entirely artist-lead initiative that evolves organically each year.
This year’s exhibition offers a sense of playful simplicity combined with sophisticated mastery of materials. There is a wide range of visual expression, but each artist has at least two visual allies, creating a chain of continuity throughout. The artists range in age from emerging makers in their 20’s to art-world veterans in their 90’s. Don’t miss Art at Kings Oaks. The exhibition promises to brighten your autumn well beyond its three-week duration.
