‘Career Tracks in the Railroad Industry’ Feb. 2 explains opportunities ahead of an introductory course beginning Feb. 16 at Bristol

Bucks County Community College invites the public to “Career Tracks in the Railroad Industry,” a free information session Saturday, February 2, at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks.

The session provides an overview of what to expect if you enroll in the college’s Locomotive Engineer and Conductor Basic Training Program, beginning Saturday, February 16, in partnership with NJ Transit.

The 65-hour introductory course prepares students to apply for a training program to become an engineer or conductor on a freight or passenger rail line. Engineers can earn a training salary up to $53,000 a year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. After training and certification, which takes about two years, salaries range from $60,000 and higher.

The free information session, from 9 a.m. to noon February 2, will explain more about the 11-week course. Those who register for the course during the information session will receive a 10% discount on tuition. For more information, contact Donna Kirn at 215-497-8729 or [email protected].
