Over their past 24 years, Newtown's Isaac Newton’s has been the backdrop to many milestones for the residents in Lower Bucks- from birthday dinners to high school graduations to after-work drinks to date nights. While best known for their impressive beer bar, locals have come to know the many different sides of Isaac's, a unique combination of three establishments in one. There is the bar side, downstairs dining (including a scenic outdoor patio), and the upstairs dining room, where families with young children often gather for a carefree dinner.

With a diverse menu that includes a well-priced children’s menu, gourmet grilled cheese options and eight different kinds of ceasar salads, plus 22 taps and more than 200 kinds of bottled beer from all over the world, Isaac's can truly claim that it has something for everyone.

The restaurant has been in business since 1991 under the consistent, hands-on ownership of Glenn Blakely, who is often seen on the premises. Manager Dennis Wackowski credits Glenn's dedicated as part of the reason for the success of Isaac’s.

“The food is consistent and good quality food,” says Wackowski. “We guarantee quick service, too, which is important, especially to those patrons who are dining with children.”

The food hits the table within 15 minutes. The upstairs dining area for families with children offers a relaxing environment where children feel comfortable, and if they do act up, Wackowski assures that you are not alone. That is why Isaac’s is set up that way.

And as the menu states, when inventor and scientist Isaac Newton, the restaurant’s namesake, was living in the 1600s, food had to be local and it had to be fresh. That is how the restaurant chooses to operate today.

“This isn’t a chain,” says Wackowski. The recipes down to the finished product and every step in between is created on site to assure unique and flavorful dishes to please every customer.

Isaac’s will undergo several changes in the coming months. The inside of the restaurant will be renovated to give is a more modern feel. Renovations will begin at the end of the summer at the beginning of the school year. They are also working to redo the menu. A new menu will be out mid- summer. In addition to these changes, the restaurant is also getting more involved with the surrounding community.

“We are a community restaurant,” explains Wackowski. “Over the years we have seen people come in as a couple on dates, they get married, hang out at the bar, and then are seated upstairs when they have kids. We have seen the whole trend in the past 20 years. We enjoy the relationships we’ve built with customers.”

To continue to foster that relationship with the community, Isaac’s is planning to hold fundraising nights to area organizations. The organizations distribute Isaac’s coupons, and when customers show coupons to their servers on designated days, a percentage of the bill will be returned to the organization in the form of a donation. In the past, the restaurant has partnered with area schools, religious organizations, and charities.

“Our customers support us, and we support them,” says Wackowski. “That’s what community is.”
