With the spring showers and sun in full effect, you may have noticed a few Farmers' Markets popping up on the weekends.  May marks the beginning of the season for many of these local hot spots, which can draw quite a weekly crowd.  The recent resurgence of enthusiasm for buying local and buying healthy has helped to make farm markets a weekly tradition for many.  Bucks County is fortunate enough to have a number of fantastic seasonal outdoor markets for shoppers looking to buy fresh produce and other products that were made or sourced locally.

The most recent opening, the Wrightstown Farmers' Market, officially began its season on May 5th.  The market runs every Saturday 9am-1pm until November 17th adjacent to the township building at 2203 2nd Street Pike in Wrightstown.  According to the their website, they features over 25 vendors offering an impressive assortment of products:

seasonal, freshly harvested, organically and conventionally grown vegetables, herbs, flowers; preserved products; 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised poultry, lamb and pork; pastured, free range eggs; organic yogurt and cheeses; artisanal breads and homemade baked goods; handmade soaps and lotions; raw local honey and beeswax candles; locally grown and handmade fiber products; gluten free and vegan items; organic, fair trade, locally roasted coffees; organic, freshly ground nut butters; gourmet prepared foods and local handcrafts.

In addition to these products, the market offers live music, educational activities, and cooking demonstrations.  For the price of admission (free), we're thinking it sounds like a pretty good option for some of those sunny Saturday mornings.

The Wrightstown Market is put on the by the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance.  If you're interested in finding a market in your neighborhood, we've listed the others below.  If you know of one we haven't listed here, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it to the list!  (If you're interested in checking out an indoor market, try the recently-opened Stockton Market.)
