Every season now seems like Harry Potter season, but his birthday comes but once per year, July 31st. The Bucks County Free Library will be brewing up some spells to celebrate the day. Other area magic makers are celebrating all summer long. Read on to see how you can Potter around Pennsylvania.

Voldemort Free Birthday Party
Harry Potter’s birthday is coming up and the Bucks County Library has planned a celebration, more fun than a lightning bolt scar on your birthday. The Langhorne Branch will host Quidditch, potions, music and more. Special guests include the Barn Nature Center visiting with Hogwarts worthy creatures. There will also be ice cream and pizza. Curly Tail Ice Cream will feature Harry Potter inspired flavors like Butterbeer. Wands and robes are welcome at this all-ages event, scheduled July 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Get sorted
There is actually a school for Wizardry in Pennsylvania, the Brandywine School for Wizardry. The main school is in Chester Springs, but occasionally the teacher fly over to Bucks and Montgomery County to teach magic. At this camp, instructors will engage in magical play where kids can earn house points, play Quidditch, learn charms spells and potions and solve a mystery with their classmates.
Potter fans can get their fix at the Horsham Community Center at 1025 Horsham Road in Horsham, August 13 – 17, Monday to Friday, half day camps available. They also host one night events, with more planned this fall.

More fun than a headless-hunt
Watson Adventures is planning a field trip to the Philadelphia Museum of art in search of art and enchanted objects that seem like they are straight out of a Harry Potter Book. Searchers can look for potions masters, flying owls, giants, centaurs, and unicorns. There might also be a mermaid or two, just like in the Triwizard tournament.
Event organizers say this can be played by Potter super-fans and muggles alike. This hunt is designed for kids and adults together, kids must be accompanied by an adult. It is intended for children ages 10 and up. For private hunts, a Junior Wizards edition is available for ages 7 and up.
There is a hunt scheduled July 28, August 4, August 18 and August 25, all starting at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $39 for adults and include admission to the museum. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is located at 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia.
