Grey Nun Academy announced today that scholarship grants are now available to provide tuition relief for new students enrolling at The Academy for two consecutive years.

Named in honor of the school’s foundress St. Marguerite d'Youville, grant awards are earmarked for qualifying Kindergarten and First Grade students newly enrolling for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years.

“We are proud and honored to offer the scholarship grants to area children who desire a small student-to-teacher ratio within a technologically advanced 21st Century learning environment,” said Head of School Deborah Kost. “We pride ourselves on providing a superior education that celebrates the whole child – mind, heart, body, and spirit. We appreciate each child’s strengths, needs, and interests – all that make a child unique – and we are so pleased that St. Marguerite d'Youville Scholarship Grants will make Grey Nun Academy available to students in kindergarten and grade one who are eager to learn and explore in a safe, supportive environment.”

Scholarship grants are merit-based for qualifying students, though additional need-based financial funds are also available. The scholarship grant program continues the legacy of St. Marguerite d'Youville by making a quality, independent, Catholic education available to more families. The scholarship grants are made possible by generous benefactors who wish to celebrate her legacy as an ambassador of good will and to honor her memory to serve those in need with a zeal for social justice and quality education.

“The Academy honors our students for all they are today and all they hope to become tomorrow,” added Kost. “We are proud of how our students grow as life-long learners and empathetic members of their community. We strive to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum for young readers, writers, mathematicians and scientists with an emphasis on social, emotional and spiritual growth in every child. Our community embraces our heritage of faith, perseverance, and character, seeking ways to live the philosophy established by our foundress, St. Marguerite d’Youville.”
