Bucks County truly shines in the Fall and there is no shortage of awesome Halloween events happening countywide. We have it all- from haunted hayrides to costume parades, from scary and spooky to kid-friendly fun for the whole family. Check out these spirited Halloween-themed events and fun, safe places to take the kids trick-or-treating!

Friday October 26th

Boo Bash at the YMCA
DoylestownThe Boo Bash at the YMCA is a family-friendly costume dress rehearsal with fun music, dancing, games, prizes, and refreshments. This event will take place from 6:30-9:00 pm and is free to the community. Connect with Rachel Mauer at 215-348-8131 x1167 with questions.

 

 

 

Mercer By Moonlight
Doylestown- Discover the history and folklore of some of Mercer Museum’s more chilling or ghoulish objects at the Mercer by Moonlight Tour. Included are the museum's hearse, gallows, “witch” doctor’s canes, brooms, and more. This is a family friendly event for ages 8 and up. Light refreshments will be served following the tour. Tours begin at 7pm and 8 pm and the fee is $12/$10 for members and $10/$8 for youths under 12. Reservations are required, call 215-348-9461

Gaggle of Ghouls Walk
Doylestown– Led by PVNC’s somewhat Ghoulish naturalists, embark on an eerie walk through the trails of Peace Valley Nature Center at their Gaggle of Ghouls event. Along the way encounter some “creatures” that will expose myths about the creepy and frightening nature of cats, rats, bats, snakes, and other things that go bump in the night. Walks are ongoing throughout the evening and no pre-registration is required. This event runs from 6:30-9:00 pm. Fee is $2 for members and $5 for non-members.

 

Saturday October 27th

Newtown Halloween Parade
Newtown- The Newtown Halloween Parade begins at 10 am at Stocking Works with Registration beginning at 9 am. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the parade at the Newtown Theatre and refreshments will be served. This year’s categories include:

Mayor’s Trophy

This event is rain or shine, so in case of rain (or unexpected snow like last year) all registration and judging will take place in the Newtown Theatre starting at 9 am.

Halloween at the Lower Bucks YMCA
Fairless Hills– Trick or treating, Halloween arts and crafts, a family witch hunt and a refreshments (available for purchase) at the Lower Bucks Family YMCA on Oxford Valley Road in Fairless Hills on October 27th from10AM-1PM. The suggested donation is $10 per family. More information: 215-949-3400, ext. 21.

Halloween Happening
RichboroThe 36th Annual Halloween Happening at the Recreation Center begins at 11 am with costume registration and music by Cool Beans. The costume parade begins at noon with prizes given out for the top costumes in the following age groups: 2 and under, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and a special family category. Following the parade enjoy treats, games, face painting, a fortuneteller, and more. Free treat bags will be given to the first 300 children age 12 and under.

Quakertown Farmer's Market's Annual Halloween Costume Parade
Quakertown– The Quakertown Farmer's Market presents its 20th Annual Halloween Costume Parade and Contest on October 27th. Participants are asked to line up outside exit 18 in the appropriate age group at 12:45 pm with the parade following at 1 pm. All categories will have a winner and a runner up, and the grand prizewinner will receive $250 in Market Bucks! Trick or Treaters are also welcome starting at 1 pm to visit merchants to pick up treats.

Sunday October 28th

Lambertville Halloween Parade

 

Lambertville- Join in on the fun and participate in one of New Jersey’s oldest Halloween Parades at the Lambertville Halloween Parade on October 28th. The parade will assemble on York Street at Mary Sheridan Park at 2:45 pm and step off promptly at 3 pm. The parade will proceed north on Union Street to Perry Street, and east on Perry Street to the Little League Field where the judging will be held. Register online or in person at the event. A first, second, and third place prize will be given for the winner in each of the following categories:

Tour and Ghost Stories at the Pearl S. Buck House
Perkasie– Join the Pearl S. Bucks House, one of the most historic houses in Bucks County, for a night of candlelit tours and ghost stories, hayrides and refreshments. Attendees will experience authentic documented ghosts stories from the 68-acre national historic landmark, Green Hills Farm, including the tales of : Devil Harry, the nosy colonial maid; Mrs. Loris- the housekeeper; Magdalena- the deserted fiance; and others from Pearl S. Buck’s novels. Tickets for the event at $10 and free for children under 5 years old. Tickets must be reserved in advance. This event is being held October 28th at 4:15 pm, 5:15 pm, and 6:15 pm

Hallowine Celebration
Washington Crossing– On October 28th from 12-6 pm Crossing Vineyards celebrates Halloween in “style” at its Hallowine Celebration. Come in costume and get a free logo glass with the purchase of a wine tasting (standard or premium). (must be 21 or older to participate).

Family Halloween Witch Trial
Morrisville– Enjoy trick-or-treating, fall activities, and games during this free event at Pennsbury Manor from 1-4pm. Witch Trial: In 1684, Margaret Mattson was accused by her neighbors of witchcraft. William Penn presided over the trial.  Is she guilty or innocent?

Wednesday October 31st

Mall-O-Ween
Langhorne– Start your trick or treating early at Mall-O-Ween at the Oxford Valley Mall on October 31st from 4:30-6:30 pm. Trick or Treat in a safe, weatherproof environment in this mall-wide event.

Ghost Tour of New Hope
New Hope-
Follow a lantern-led “walk” along picturesque streets where you’ll learn about the doings of such places as the towpath itself; or see the phantom Hitchhiker who may pass you in the moonlight; or see the historic inn where Aaron Burr appears from time to time and stares with sightless eyes… plus new exciting stories have been added to the Ghost Tour. $10 per person. Every Saturday night through November 17th, Every Friday night in October, 8 p.m.

Valley of Fear and the Original Haunted Hayride
Feasterville– Enjoy a night of thrills and screams at the Valley of Fear! With two haunted house tours of the new and frightening Zombie Research and Control Facility and the exciting Captain Willies Shipwreck Cove! Or go through the all new Scary Tales, the area’s only walk through Haunted Forrest Maze with no wagons or walls to protect you! The moon light is your only guide. Also enjoy nightly live entertainment, and food and refreshments in Pumpkinhead’s Picnic Grove. October 1st-November 1st.

Festival of Fears
Newtown– Come out and Feel the Fear at Thorpe Farm. Too scary to come alone so bring your family & friends. They say there is safety in numbers… the only way to find out is to come and experience a night out in the woods yourself! The Festival Of Fears… The Scariest Haunted House in Bucks County now includes a Haunted Hayride, Haunted Corn Maze, Live Bands, Bon Fires, and tons of food. Plenty of things do do for everyone but too scary to come alone!

HorrorFest
Yardley– In a dark corner of Eastern Pennsylvania, awaits Bucks County’s most haunted farm–Shady Brook Farm. Shady Brook has spent decades sowing fear, now reap the terror lying in its fields at HorrorFest. HorrorFest features four thrilling attractions: the Hayride of Horror, Barn of Horror, 3-D Alien Encounter, and Carnage. Can you handle the harvest? September 29th, October 5th – 21st on Friday Sat & Sun, 26th- 28th

Canal-o-Ween 2012
Yardley- Canal-O-Ween is an annual week-long traditional style Halloween lighting of Jack-o-Lanterns along the Delaware Canal in historic Yardley, PA so that residents and visitors can enjoy the beauty of the season within the natural setting of the Canal itself. October 31st – November 6th

Sleepy Hollow Hayride & House in the Hollow
Newtown-Ride with your friends on a real hay wagon for a 1 1/4 mile journey through the haunted woods and fields of our 230 acre farm. The Haunted House in the Hallow is a 17 room attraction with a vast cemetery that could scare even the bravest of people. With its secret passages, cobweb choked halls, and see through apparitions, it is a true ghost story come to life.

Haunted Halloween and Trick or Treat Trains
New HopeHaunted Halloween Train– Climb aboard a real ghost train haunted by area spirits, trapped in the afterlife. Meet various ghosts aboard this hallowed train as we speed through the darkness of the countryside, hearing their tales of death and despair. Hear them cry out as they recount their violent deaths, and pray their evil spirits don't stay aboard when we reach the underworld where each spirit is judged and damned to hell or welcomed to heaven. 

This event is rated PG-13 and recommended for teens and adults. Groups Welcome!

Trick or Treat Trains- Bring the kids to ride aboard this spooky train. Children of all ages are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes, helping to make the train a scary sight. Afterwards, trick or treat around the New Hope train station for more surprises! Trick or Treat bags and assorted toys and candy will be given out onboard as well as at the station. All ages welcome!

Warrington- Night Chills Haunted Hayride– Experience Night Chills! Our haunted hayride will take you out of your world and into one where horrid creatures threaten the very fabric of your existence. Corn Walk of Horror- Enter the Cornwalk of Horror and wind your way through haunted trails where monsters lurk under the cover of darkness! What's around the next corner? Bloody heads? Screaming witches? Howling ghosts? Zombies? Be prepared to be scared!
