Every community, even one as wonderfully vibrant as Bucks County struggles with its challenges. Few are more difficult to address than concerns related to drug and alcohol abuse. When addiction becomes a communities problem, we're lucky to have Happening Heroes like Maura Farrell, MSS, LSW, CAADC.

Maura's commitment to treating drug and alcohol addiction is one that's been shaped over 15 years of working within this community. Earlier in her career, she worked for Aldie Counseling providing outreach and mobile engagement services to clients who were struggling to stay in treatment. Her commitment to treating addiction led her to the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania where she worked for the Women's Community Recovery Center providing program implementation, supervision, and training to staff and clients alike. More recently, she is working in private practice conducting individual and family therapy with folks struggling with addiction and cooccurring mental health concerns in the Doylestown community at Bucks County Psychological.

It's hard to imagine how many people Maura has helped over the last 15 years, but with her compassion and determination to help, I'm certain they all took a step forward.
