Over the weekend, Bucks Happening received the following heartfelt letter from a local woman who participated in AWeber's recent “Stuff the Bus” promotion.
For the past few weeks you have heard people talking about Stuff the Bus, a school supplies drive to benefit local students in need. The United Way of Bucks County and AWeber Communications collaborated to organize one of the best campaigns we have ever been involved in. They reached out to local businesses to spread the word, help in collecting the donations and also to participate in stuffing the backpacks with the school supplies collected.
It was evident Stuff The Bus was not about one individual or one company’s involvement; it was truly a business & community wide event. With doors wide-open, local businesses joined the AWeber team to stuff the bags. When we arrived, the area set up for stuffing the backpacks was arranged like an assembly line. There were even notepapers on hand for us to include a little letter to each child. We realized as each backpack came through the line, we were a part of the big picture of helping local children in need.
Once the backpacks were loaded it was time to Stuff the Bus. AWeber, being the fun loving company that they are, has two twisty slides that descend from the second floor. You guessed it, some of the backpacks got their first ride down a sliding board! The AWeber “bus” was stuffed and ready to go but there was still a sidewalk full of school bags. Yeah!!! Plenty of mini vans on hand!
For myself, Stuff The Bus was truly a moving experience.
