On Monday, September 9th, the Philmont Country Club of Huntington Valley, in conjunction with STEAM Pub and The D’Angelo Foundation will host their annual charity golf outing.  The Take a Swing at Cancer benefit was created to honor those in our community who have fought tirelessly against cancer. This year's event will be dedicated to brain cancer and two local families close to the heart of Steam Pub.

A message from Martin Hoeger, owner of STEAM Pub:

This year we chose Brain Cancer and two local families close to the heart of Steam Pub.
The first being 9 year old Dylan Krysko, who after a normal doctor's visit was quickly rushed into emergency surgery for a cancerous tumor on his brain. After chemo and radiation Dylan is on the mend, cancer free, but will need therapy to get back his speech, motor skills and to deal with his mood changes all caused by the tumor removal.
Secondly is Meredith Greb, wife of one of our long time employees Mike Faust. At a family party Meredith had a seizure and when rushed to the hospital it was found that she had a tumor on her brain. After over a year of chemo and radiation, as well as emergency surgery to remove the tumor, we are happy to say that Meredith sees the finish line for her battle. Though they have all but beaten their diseases, the financial burden is still enormous. We hope to alleviate some of that pressure with our outing.
