Summer is the season for farmers markets. They are the best place to get local and organically grown produce, locally crafted beverages, baked goods and even fresh made soap. If you need to get out and get a taste of summer visit one of the farmers markets that you voted to the Happening List.

Why you love them: The Doylestown Farmer’s Market is a great place to grab some food to take home or eat while you stroll. Kids love the animal-friendly venue where they are sure to get a pet or two in. They can also grab a black and white cookie from one of the great bakery stands and munch just before they make a trip to the Doylestown Bookshop.

Quakertown Farmers Market
When: Friday and Saturday year-round from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Why you love them: The Quakertown Farmer’s Market is like no other. It’s been around so long a whole building has built up around it and now shoppers can peruse in climate-controlled comfort. They have free parking and clean modern restrooms and get to boast over 200,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor shopping. One of the favorites in the Quakertown Market is the Sticky Buns from Fleck’s Bakery. But make sure you get there early, they often sell out.
