Pennsbury High School Prom 2017 did not disappoint! Both QuestLove and DJ Paulie D took the stage for an unforgettable night at Bucks County's largest high school
Starting at noon on Saturday, May 20, 2017, the public was able to walk-through the gymnasium and parade of students arriving. The main event with a theme of “Yo Philly” started at 7:30 p.m.
Questlove is best known as the drummer and joint frontman for the Grammy Award-winning band The Roots. The Roots have been serving as the in-house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon since February 17, 2014, continuing the role they served during the entire run of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
DJ Pauly D is best known for being a housemate on MTV's reality show Jersey Shore and later starring in his own spin-off show, The Pauly D Project.
Pennsbury High School's proms have become notorious for their next-level entertainment. In 2004, singer-songwriter John Mayer performed for a crowd of nearly a thousand students at Pennsbury High School prom, which was awarded “Best Prom” by Reader's Digest as part their “America's 100 Best” feature.
The school's prom tradition caught the attention of Sports Illustrated senior writer Michael Bamberger in 2002. Bamberger went on to write a book, Wonderland: A Year in the Life of an American High School, which chronicled the senior year of a group of Pennsbury students. The rights for the book were bought by Paramount, and MTV and Tollin/Robbins Productions were to produce the film, which had tentatively been named Pennsbury. However, as of 2004, the status of the project had been left uncertain.
