Jim-Wilson-fundraiser-fade-slider1

A motivated community is a powerful force. Hundreds of NAC members, friends, family, and corporate donors where led by the vision and generosity of NAC owner Jim Worthington to raise in excess of $50,000 for Jim Wilson's life-saving kidney transplant.

Jim Wilson needs to receive a kidney transplant to save his life, but also needs to meet certain physical requirements first. In order to meet these requirements, he had to quit all 3 of his jobs, including being a minister, and devote all of his waning energies to living a healthy lifestyle while Jim Worthington learned of Jim Wilson’s story through an amazing letter written to him by Jim Wilson’s youngest daughter, Maya. It was then he came up with a plan to help Jim Wilson. Jim Worthington told him to quit his jobs now and he would pay for his membership and a team of personal trainers to direct his workouts as well as pay his living expenses for the next 6 months Jim Wilson was going to do his own fundraiser, but Jim Worthington said he would do it for him raising as much money as possible so that Jim Wilson could be supported during his necessitated time off of work while he recovers and regains complete health.

It has been said that “charity starts at home” which is why the NAC reached out to all of its members and asked them to donate to the cause of their fellow member and fellow-man, Jim Wilson. The response was amazing! In less than 2 months, the entire $50,000 has been raised and Jim Wilson can concentrate on his physical and emotional well-being as he prepares for the Wilson will go for the betterment of others. Sadly, Jim is living with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and endures dialysis for 6 hours every other day. Through the unconditional love of his family (3 lovely daughters, Maya, Jessica and Christina), as well as his congregations, friends, extended family and NAC family, he is now beginning to have the hope that was slipping away.

As a minister, father, coach, mentor and friend there is no end to the lengths to which Jim There will be a great deal of celebration at his special event on Saturday, June 28th Outdoor Pool Complex. This will be a chance for everyone to celebrate with Jim and encourage him, his family and each other to find hope in the fellowship of one another. To quote Winston Churchill, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give”.
