In my brief 23 years of life on this beautiful planet, I have made three generally poor assumptions; 1: women will flock to me because I think they will 2. Employers will jump at the chance to have me even though they don’t know me, and 3. I’m extraordinarily good looking. Yes, I have fooled some with my charm and unenviable perseverance, but the truth of the matter is no man is safe behind the merit of his words. What really resonates in the ear of “I’m out of your league” ladies, “you’re a bit under-qualified” employers, and even your own wishful thinking has always been a clean haircut. Yes, a haircut. You may say to yourself, “I like my haircuts. They do a good job”. At first glance this may be true, but the overall experience when getting a cut can make a world of difference. John’s Barber Shop in Newtown, PA makes that world of difference.
John McKenna, Eric Demsko, and Gary Christopher have been cutting hair combined for more than 70 years. Not only do they have the experience, but the atmosphere beckons to all men. Two flat screen TVs, two giant black leather couches, a bubble hockey table, a serious vending machine, and a keg-er-ator filled with various Lionshead beverages. Gentlemen, this is the place to be. Forget the “revolving door” salons and shops that are looking for the tip and then the next customer. Enjoy your experience; sit down with a fine cigar, a cold beer and good manly conversation about those ladies that wouldn’t give you the time of day before you walked into John’s. Don’t feel like talking today? That’s fine. Grab yourself a Men’s Health, Philadelphia, Philly Beer scene, or any one of the other manly magazines available. Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers memorabilia line the walls of this den of men.
In this overly fast paced business world, there must be time to relax. I highly recommend heading to 126 South State Street to do so. Get to know your barber again, because they definitely want to get to know you. They will probably try to beat you in bubble hockey when their done beating the ugly off of your head. That’s exactly what happened to me! Men of Bucks County and beyond, cozy black leather barber chairs await you. Like I said before, it’s not just the haircut, but the whole experience that makes John’s Barber Shop so incredible. Walk in meek, walk out…man!
At John's, walk-ins are welcome or schedule an appointment with John, Eric or Gary at 267-364-5251. Enter their parking lot through the Newtown Beer and Wine Shop driveway directly behind Starbuck's.
