With Labor Day upon us, it's officially time to soak up the last bits of summer! To make the most of these last few days, we have rounded up what to do in Bucks County to create the perfect ending to the hottest season of the year:

Wine Concert Series

Don’t miss our favorite neighborhood event! Bring the whole family to hear great local bands, enjoy wine tasting by Rose Bank Winery, and relax on our beautifully landscaped E.P. Henry patio. Enjoy crackers, cheeses, chips and dips from our Farm Market, and sandwiches from our full service Deli, or grab a burger or dog hot off the grill. Playground for kids! Uncle Dave’s Homemade Ice Cream is open for business. Wine is sold by the glass or by the bottle. No outside food or beverages are permitted. Enjoy the final night with Hank Ricci, a musician who does covers from pop to piano.

3rd Annual Bucks County Duathlon

Whether you're a 1st timer or seasoned pro, we welcome you to Join hundreds of athletes from the Delaware Valley and beyond for a fun filled morning of racing. The course features a 2 mile run on the park grounds, a 10 mile bike on scenic River road along the Delaware river and finishing off with another 2 mile run. All Money raised from the event will benefit two worthy causes: The Washington Crossing Visitors Center which is currently being re-built and the Missy Flynn Fund, which provides financial aid for medical assistance to the Newtown athlete who survived a life-threatening brain aneurysm six years ago.

Labor Day Weekend BBQ & Fireworks
Sesame Place, Langhorne
September 2nd, BBQ 5:00pm – 6:00pm and Fireworks 8:20pm – 8:30pm

Join us in celebration of Labor Day! Event includes buffet dinner and character appearances at Big Bird’s Riverside Pavilion. After a fun-filled dinner, enjoy our Labor Day fireworks display! The night sky sparkles at Sesame Place, with our spectacular fireworks show, set to a Sesame Street music, making the festivities on Labor Day weekend truly memorable. Fireworks will begin immediately following our Neighborhood Street Party Night Parade that will start at 8pm on 9/2/12.

Veterans Square Labor Day Concert
Veterans Square Park, Lower Makefield
September 3rd, 1:00pm – 5:00pm

Enjoy a day in Veterans Square Park with the family! The day includes handmade crafts and refreshments from 1pm-5pm. From 1pm-3pm, there will be a DJ, a moon bounce, and a magic show. From 3pm-5pm enjoy a free concert performed by the Pennsbury Community Band. The crafters will be selling handmade items only, nothing mass produced. There will be a silent auction, basket raffles, and 50/50 as well.

Labor Day 10k Race
Williamson Park, Morrisville
September 3rd, preparation starts at 7:00am

On Labor Day, join Morrisville for their Annual Labor Day 10K race. The sanctioned race, which begins at 9:00 a.m. takes runners throughout the streets of the Borough. At 9:10, we kick off a 1-mile Fun Run. At the conclusion of both races, awards are presented at Williamson Park. The race, which attracts runners from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, will celebrate its 25th year in 2007.

47th Annual Polish-American Family Festival & Country Fair
National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Doylestown
September 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 12:00pm – 8:00pm

Celebrate traditional Polish culture with live entertainment, arts & crafts, re-enactments, ethnic foods, midway rides and more. $10 admission fee includes unlimited entrance to midway rides all day long (extreme rides at additional cost), stage shows and special events. The Hunt for Treasure!
Mercer Museum, Doylestown
September 1st

What is treasure? Who hunts for treasure and how do they find it? This family-friendly exhibit immerses visitors in the science, history and thrill of treasure and treasure hunting through artifacts, video presentations and interactive elements. Themes include sunken treasure, buried treasure, metal detecting and the “modern treasure hunt.” Visitors hunt for treasure using a metal detector, hoist pirate flags, dig for treasure on a virtual island, and more. The exhibit is included with museum admission.

Inspired Interiors: A Fonthill Photography Exhibit
Fonthill Castle, Doylestown
September 1st

Spread throughout the regular tour route of Fonthill Castle are photographs of the many of the interior spaces. Come and see how Mercer’s house inspired these modern artists and their interpretations of his castle-home. Regular tour admission required.Exhibit runs from September 1-September 30.

Building Henry’s Castle Tour
Fonthill Castle, Doylestown
September 1st, 1:00pm; September 2nd & 3rd, 1:30pm

How does a person go about designing and building a concrete castle? Where does one get the inspirations for such a building? To get the answer to these questions and more, starting on Memorial Day, Fonthill will offer a special hour-long tour will explore the construction, systems and inspiration for Henry Mercer’s concrete castle. $15 adult, $12 senior (65+)/college student, $7 youth (6-17), Free child (5 and under) $8 Member adult, $4 member youth (6-17). It is that time of year again! The Annual Upper Black Eddy Fire Company Carnival! Come out, have fun and support the fire company. Starts each night at 6PM! Beat the crowds and visit us on opening night. Additional wristband nights added this year! Wristband nights are now Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Ride all you want for $15. FIREWORKS on Saturday, September 1st (weather permitting). Live music every night!
