Each year, we ask locals to nominate Bucks County’s most influential people – men and women who are shaping the community, influencing their industries, and making a difference. Dozens of amazing stories were submitted about passionate and committed locals. At Bucks Happening, we salute all those who wake up every morning with the intention of leaving the world just a little bit better.

10 outstanding individuals have been named the Top 10 Movers & Shakers of the year, and we have the honor of sharing their stories on Bucks Happening. Meet Yardley's Amy Fleming Lamb, co-owner of Shady Brook Farm in Yardley. Whether it's their Halloween haunts, holiday light show, fresh market, summer wine concerts, or any of the other dozens of reasons locals love to visit Shady Brook Farm, you can bet Amy has her hands in it. Get to know the talented local entrepreneur and mom:

Bucks Happening: What motivates you every morning?

Amy: My family and work.  I have two sons, amazing young men that are intelligent, fun and energetic and they keep me on my toes, or rather, my knees (in prayer)! And I love my job!  I am a co-owner at Shady Brook Farm in Yardley where I am in charge of marketing and HR.  I enjoy helping our staff to be servant leaders and to grow a happy life for themselves.

Bucks Happening: Where did you attend school?

Amy: Neshaminy HS, Trenton State College and West Chester University

Bucks Happening:  What would you say is your idea of a perfect day?

Amy: Sleep in, read or do a bible study, work out, a meal or time with the boys, go into work for some time to create ads or talk with employees about where they're going in life or share with guests about how we can help them, then I love hanging out with friends and family, preferably on a beach or lake in Maine.

Bucks Happening: Who inspires you?

Amy: Wow, that is difficult to narrow down!  I try to find inspiration daily whether it be friends or family, co-workers or guests.. if you look, there is always something you can gain from the people around you.  I am inspired so much by a few authors: I love Beth Moore, Lysa Terkeurst, Priscilla Shirer, basically women who are leading others to know God.

Bucks Happening: What led you to choose your career?

Amy: Our farm is a family business, My brothers and I are the 4th generation and it just happened that the whole vegetable business was changing and we needed to make some changes too.  We got into retail and agritainment as each of us graduated from college. As we returned home we each took on a different part of the business to grow it.

Bucks Happening: Which achievement are you most proud of?

Amy: Two amazing boys and I was an all-American gymnast in college.

Bucks Happening: What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?

Amy: I have had many challenges in my life; had my knee replaced in high school and it was a challenge to get back in the gym, but I loved gymnastics so much and I worked hard to continue.  I was diagnosed with MS after my second son was born and well, that was and still is challenging!  I am truly lucky to have such an amazing family and the advances they have made to help those of us with this disease is pretty fantastic, 25 years ago they didn't have any medication.

Bucks Happening: What is the biggest accomplishment that you’d like to achieve over the next 5 years?

Amy: To launch two successful men into the world who are kind, caring and fun!

Bucks Happening: How do you think your friends & coworkers would describe you?

Amy: Caring, hardworking, compassionate and loyal of family and friends.

Bucks Happening: Where’s your favorite place to go in Bucks County?  We have so many amazing places here in Bucks County.

Amy: I would start with Rose Bank Winery they have one of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen. The 911 memorial Garden is also a local treasure that I love to visit.

Bucks Happening:  You can take a time machine back to visit yourself 10 years ago. What advice would you give?

Amy: Live each day to the fullest, be present, keep reading God's word and don't wish your life away.

Bucks Happening: Same question 10 years in the future.

Amy: Same answer!
