It's time to say goodbye to another Happening year in Bucks County. As 2012 draws to a close and Bucks Happening prepares for the 2013 Happening List contest, we're taking a look back at the MOST Happening, Happening List Categories of 2012 (Try saying that 5 times fast!).  These ten categories were red hot in 2012, receiving the most votes in the 2012 competition:

Winner of Bucks County's Most Happening Entrepreneur 2012, Jennifer Jay Davis

10) Most Happening Entrepreneur: An abundance of savvy, talented, ambitious entrepreneurs are behind many of Bucks County's favorite businesses. With an impressive list of nominees, including owners of boutique businesses like last year's winner Jennifer “Jay” Davis of Blush Hair Salon & Makeup Studio; popular voices like finalist Kristie Finnan of DivaDietitian.com; & companies taking the country by storm like nominee Brad Gruno of Brad's Raw Chips, it's no wonder that this was one of the most viewed categories in the competition.  Thank you to all of the local entrepreneurs; your drive is building our community!

9) Best Kept Local Secret: Looks like the secret is out! Winner Down To Earth Cafe led this fiercely competitive category with finalists including Vine & Fig Bistro, Cafe Remi, and Vintage Grill. Meet the talented team behind Down to Earth Cafe with BH TV's Lauren Rooney below:

8) Most Happening Interior Decorator/Designer: Bucks County has got it's eye on design. We can thank these talented winners, finalists, and nominees for making Bucks beautiful.

7) Most Happening Gym: Keeping locals physically fit, the gyms of Bucks County made a big showing in the 2012 Happening List competition, showcasing the state-of-the art facilities enjoyed by thousands of locals. Our suburban fitness  facilities hold their own against the top clubs in the nation, such as the 2012 winner, the Newtown Athletic Club which just recently introduced a cloud-based fitness app and even gave away a car to one of their members this year!  These fitness establishments also go way beyond a place to lift weights, playing integral roles in our community, such as finalist Cornerstone Fitness Clubs, who is involved with the local fight against childhood obesity.

6) Most Happening Alternative Exercise Program: Another display of Bucks County's commitment to health, this popular category proves that there is something for everyone in the area, from a fencing academy to yoga to karate to Zumba and everything in between!

5) Most Happening Bartender: After all of that rigorous working out, locals appreciate a fantastic cocktail so it's no surprise that the Most Happening Bartender category was the 5th most viewed category in the 2012 contest!  Finneys Pub, Marsha Brown, Chambers, Candlewyck, and The Perk all placed as top local spots to enjoy an adult beverage. The Perk also won the honor of crafting the perfect signature cocktail, The Twisted Perk Mojito, at the 2012 Happening List Red Carpet Bash!

4) Most Happening Band or Musician: Home to such musical powerhouses as Pink, Christina Perri, and Kathy Sledge, we knew this would be a tough category to crown a winner in! Brooke Shive & The 45s showed us the smooth sounds that led to their victory at 2012 Happening List Red Carpet Bash. Look for these talented nominees playing at venues throughout the are all year long!

3) Most Happening Makeup: We're ready for our close-ups thanks to these very popular make-up artists of Bucks County.

2) Most Happening Photographer: Living in such a scenic happening area, we require many talented photographers! We recommend following last year's winner, Dana Isley, on Instagram at “danapics” for a constant stream of beautiful shots!

…and the most happening category of 2012 was…

1) Most Happening Trainer: As competitive outside the gym as they are in it, the trainers of Bucks County drew lots of attention in the 2012 competition, with Brian Redard of Fitlife Performance Training taking home the grand prize.  For locals making a 2013 fitness resolution, this is the category for you. On behalf of the Bucks County community, we'd like to say thanks to all of the nominees for kicking our butts into high gear!

Thank you all for an amazing year! We look forward to an even greater 2013 Happening List competition in Bucks County!
