Tina Margot is the perfect example to show you can start in your art at any age, “Technically I am still a “baby” in the music business. Most 20 year old musicians have been playing longer than I have. I didn't start my music career (writing, singing, performing) till I was 45. I love what I do and I'm so glad that I'm able to do it. It is never to late to try something new!!”

She was born in Missouri but considers herself to be an east coast girl since she has lived most of her life there.  Currently residing in Buckingham, she moved to Bucks County in 2002 and hasn’t looked back since, “I absolutely love living in this area!! We are so blessed to live in an area that is not only beautiful, but hosts a plethora of musicians and artists. It is a wonderful place to be!”  Check out our interview with Tina, this week’s Happening Artist.

BH: Tell us about your music.

TM: I always describe my sound as eclectic. I am a blues girl at heart, but I play and sing many genres including folk, country, jazz, and of course good old classic rock. My set list includes many originals and many covers that I make my own. I only play music that touches me. I feel that's the only way I can touch others.

BH: What do you like about the music scene in Bucks County?

TM: What CAN'T you find in Bucks County and surrounding areas??? On any given night of the week, you can find an OPEN MIC to listed to local, and not so local, artists play a few tunes. There is live music to be found on any given night at many of the local eating/drinking establishments. The music in this area is so diverse! You can hear blues one night, bluegrass another, jazz, rock, contemporary, country…even classical. If you want to hear it, you can find it in this area!

BH: Where in the area can we see you perform?

TM: I perform regularly in the area. I run an OPEN MIC at Maxwell's on Main every Tuesday night, upstairs, from 7:30-11:00pm. I normally play the first set till 8pm and then the list starts. We always have a great time! Every fourth Tina2Friday, I host another OPEN MIC at Unionville Vineyards in Ringos NJ. Fabulous ambiance, great wine and wonderful musicians. I play monthly at The Farmhouse Tavern and the ZEN DEN, both in Doylestown, as well as The Mainland Grille at The Mainland Golf Course in Harlesyville, PA. Periodically, you will find me at Havana's,John and Peters, and Karla's in New Hope, or you might find me playing in Lambertville.

BH: What if we can get enough?  Do you have a CD?

TM: I released my first full production CD last year. It is called “Red is the Color of Love”. I am very proud of it and others seem to enjoy it very much. You can give a listen and purchase a copy here. I also have a few copies left in my car if you see me around town.
