The Makefield Women’s Association (MWA) has announced the date and location of its popular Spring Fundraiser – Designer Bag Bingo – as well as an luxury raffle that celebrates the beauty of Bucks County. The event will be held on April 7th at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Social Hall in Jamison, PA. This will be the 3rd year in a row for MWA’s bingo fundraiser, where it has sold out in advance ticket sales the past 2 years. It’s a great night of fun, filled with trendy designer bags, themed raffle baskets, door prizes, and a special luxury raffle. This year’s luxury raffle – “A Weekend Getaway in Bucks County” – is inspired by the County that we all love and will feature a 2-night stay in a gorgeous Bed & Breakfast in New Hope along with gift certificates and much, much more!
So, what is the Makefield Women’s Association? MWA is a local nonprofit composed of a diverse group of women dedicated to raising funds and providing services to individuals in need. MWA supports programs that benefit both the local community and worthy humanitarian organizations.
Each year, the Makefield Women’s Association works hard to raise funds and lends helping hands in various community projects. MWA members select beneficiaries annually through a membership nominating and voting process. Members work directly with the selected beneficiaries to understand their challenges and how MWA can help, through fundraising efforts and volunteer projects. Distribution of funds from annual fundraising efforts is made each April to annual beneficiaries.
MWA’s 2016/2017 beneficiaries include:
• A Woman’s Place
• Aid For Friends
• Bucks County Housing Group
• FSA – Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter
• Penndel Community Food Pantry
• Pennsbury Scholarships
• Wrapping Presence
• Yardley-Makefield Fire Company
