While most people think of covered bridges and scenic river views when they hear the words “Bucks County”, something different comes to mind for those in the digital world. That is because one of the hottest social media networks in the world, myYearbook, is based in New Hope, PA.

Even more impressive, this powerhouse company was founded by two local teens at the ages of fifteen and sixteen years old.  Six years ago, Catherine Cook and her brother David envisioned turning their high school yearbook into a digital experience. With a bit of guidance from their brother Geoff, myYearbook blossomed into one of the leading social networks in the world, targeting a younger demographic than other popular networks & creating innovative games that created a unique digital experience.

Business Insider reports, “In the 6-year span, the duo raised $17 million in financing, grew the site to 70 million users, and generated 1.2 billion monthly pageviews.”

Today it was announced that Latino social network Quepasa purchased MyYearbook for $100 million in cash and stock, making these young Bucks County entrepreneurs the toast of the digital town!  Catherine & David's brother, Geoff Cook, serves at the CEO of the business and will continue in a Chief Operating Officer roll at Quepasa.

We hope the MyYearbook team is enjoying a toast today over some delicious craft beer at their neighboring business, Triumph Brewery (for those of age of course- sorry David!).

Congratulations to Catherine, David, & Geoff!! Read more about this talented family in their bios.
