It's officially September, and that means it's almost time for the Peddler's Village Scarecrow competition to kick off! Last week, Bucks Happening caught up with Junior Girl Scout Troop 21811 who teamed up with the Doylestown-based Heritage Conservancy to make an extra special scarecrow for this year's “Group Scarecrow” category.  Their crow, appropriately named Junior in honor of the group's big move from Brownies to Junior Girl Scouts this year, is spreading the important message of farmland conservation in Bucks County.

These dedicated girls came out in 95 degree heat and rolled around in hay for two hours, just to make the perfect scarecrow.  From the  little birds carefully placed upon his big straw hat to the giant red heart glued to his chest, there's no denying that a whole lot of love and laughter went into creating Junior.  The girls climbed into heaps of hay, shared their favorite farm-inspired memories in honor of the Heritage Conservancy, & even found some time for spontaneous dance moves (there's ALWAYS time for the robot after all).

Take a look- I guarantee it will put a smile on your face!

With only a few days left to submit entries for this year's Peddler's Village Scarecrow Competition & Display (get your form in asap!), people all around Bucks County are busy preparing.  Whether you'll be competing for over $5,000 in prizes or not, though, make sure to check out all of the amazing scarecrows, which will be on display between September 6th and October 24th.  Visitors to Peddler's Village will get to submit votes to choose this year's winning scarecrows! Also, don't forget to check in at Bucks Happening to vote in the online poll for even more prizes.
